I wanted to try something new so I made a boat. Meet Blackbird’s Revenge - a mechanised model pirate ship made of pine, brass, canvas, yarn, and way too much time.
Both the ship and the mechanism were my own designs, and built completely from scratch. I’d never done anything like this before, so there was a lot of figuring it out as I went - but I’m thrilled with how it all came together.

Hurley’s too cool for school.
I haven’t been drawing much lately - so I challenged myself to bash something out in under 30 minutes and post it. It’s extremely rough around the edges - but it got me out of my comfort zone and got me making something.
Just a reminder to anyone out there struggling with creative block - your output doesn’t need to be perfect. It doesn’t even need to be good. Think of creativity like a drainpipe - sometimes you’ve got to push all the sludge out before the good ideas start flowing.
