Growing up with EoE means learning lessons most children never have to learn. You learn to scan a menu before your parents even sit down. You learn to say 'I'm not hungry' at a birthday party rather than explain, again, why you can't have the cake. You learn to be brave in a way that no child should have to be, smiling through discomfort, pushing through fear, carrying the weight of a condition that most of your classmates have never heard of. EoE in children is more common than many people realise. And because the symptoms, trouble swallowing, food impactions, refusal to eat, can look like fussiness or anxiety, it often goes unrecognised for years. Every year of missed diagnosis is a year of unnecessary suffering. Food Shouldn't Hurt. But for too many kids, it does. Watch and share the story. 💜 Join the EoE community and find out how to get involved this World EoE Day: 👉 eoeday.org/get-involved/ #EoEDay #FoodShouldntHurt #EoE #EosinophilicEsophagitis #ChronicIllnessKids #RareDisease #YoungPatients #PatientStories #EoEAwareness

We work to ensure that tools used in respiratory care truly reflect the needs and lived realities of patients worldwide. The Chronic Airways Assessment Test (CAAT) is one example of this commitment—continuously refined to better understand how respiratory disease impacts daily life. Since 2024, GAAPP has supported the evolution of the CAAT by strengthening its scientific foundation, expanding global access, and improving usability through translations and digital tools. Key milestones included in major global guidelines for COPD (GOLD) and asthma (GINA), as well as country specific guidelines for COPD. Now available in multiple languages and continuing to grow, the CAAT reflects GAAPP’s commitment to supporting better conversations between patients and healthcare providers. 📥 Download and use the CAAT in your language: /caat-cat

The 2026 APAC Regional Meeting in Kuala Lumpur has officially concluded, and we are feeling incredibly inspired by the dedication of our Asia Pacific Alliance. Over two intensive days on 14–15 May, patient advocates from eight countries came together under the banner: “Together for Health. Stand with Science.” From updates on scientific and member-led education projects to hands-on workshops on WHO resolutions and stakeholder mapping, this meeting has set a powerful roadmap for the year ahead. We worked collectively to: 🔹 Strengthen our role in HTA and Clinical Guidelines with insights from Riley Sanders. 🔹 Identify key points of collaboration to scale advocacy impact across regional borders. 🔹 Design localized calls to action using our new organizational toolkits. We thank our speakers—Huang Huan, Vũ Trần Thiên Quân, Ashok Gupta, Mandy Thoo, and Preetish Toraskar from our member organizations, as well as Víctor Gascón Moreno and Riley Sanders from the GAAPP team—and all the patient advocates for their invaluable contributions and "Best Advocacy Practices" sharing. The future of allergy, lung, and skin health advocacy in APAC is brighter when we build it together. This shared vision was underscored by Board Member Dr. Ashok Gupta, who highlighted the strategic importance of our work: “We need to build our voice and capacity to make sure all Asian countries are considered serious places for research and medical development investment.” Stay updated on this meeting's outcomes and upcoming advocacy news by subscribing to our newsletter: /sign-up-for-the-newsletter . . #APAC2026 #PatientAdvocacy #AsiaPacificAlliance #TogetherForHealth #StandWithScience #HealthEquity

Day one of the 2026 APAC Regional Meeting in Kuala Lumpur is officially in the books! Highlights from today’s sessions included: 🔹 Member-Led Innovation Inspiring presentations on regional projects focused on awareness, education, and research. 🔹 Strategic Workshops Hands-on sessions tackling fundraising opportunities and identifying critical points of collaboration across the Asia Pacific. The group worked together to explore new avenues in bringing stakeholders and diverse funding to their endeavors. 🔹 The Future of Advocacy Insights into GAAPP’s newest research and educational tools tailored specifically for the APAC 2026/2027 roadmap. Our goal is to overcome barriers to government-accessing in the region by providing capacity-building sessions to local organizations. We wrapped up the day with a group dinner to network and celebrate the strong bonds being built within our regional alliance. This spirit of collaboration was perfectly captured by Dr. Vũ Trần Thiên Quân from the Asthma & COPD Outpatient Care Unit (ACOCU), who noted: “We have to share with everyone our experiences and lessons learned so others can achieve in 4 years what took us 24 by accompanying them on their journey.” His words serve as a powerful reminder of why we gather: to mentor and accompany one another in shaping the future of patient advocacy. We can’t wait to go into Day 2 tomorrow, focusing on policy and the patient voice! For too many EoE patients, getting a diagnosis feels like trying to untangle a knot in complete darkness. From the very first symptom, food feeling stuck, difficulty swallowing, unexplained chest pain, to finally sitting in front of a specialist who understands what's happening, the journey can take years. Patients bounce between GPs, gastroenterologists, and allergy specialists. They're told it's reflux. They're told it's stress. They're told to try a different diet. Meanwhile, the inflammation continues, the esophagus narrows, and life gets harder. It doesn't have to be this way. The EoE Alliance has worked with leading specialists and patient organisations around the world to define a clear, unified EoE Care Pathway, a step-by-step framework for what optimal care should look like, from the very first sign of symptoms all the way through to effective long-term management. A roadmap, not a maze. Watch this short film. Share it with a doctor, a friend, a family member. Because a clearer path changes everything for patients and for clinicians. 🩺 Healthcare provider?
