Whatās the difference between a Storm Watch and a Storm Warning? We asked the @claxton_fruitcake team to explain it to us with their fruitcakes!
āļøš When you hear Storm Watch- think of the āingredientsā for a storm. So everything is there and ready to turn into a storm.
āļøā¼ļø When you hear Storm Warning- think of the fully ābakedā storm. This is when it is time to take action as a storm is occurring or likely to occur. #GeorgiaPowerPartner #ad #hurricanepreparednessweek
Have you ever seen our linemen gathered around the back of a truck and think, āWhat are they doing?ā š¤š What youāre witnessing is actually a critical safety step in our process. ā ā”ļø
Before any work begins, our crews hold a job safety briefing to talk through the task, confirm the proper PPE, and identify potential hazards and controls in place to protect them. š¦ŗā ļø
It may look like a quick chat by the truckābut itās a vital part of making sure everyone goes home safe and the job gets done right. šŖš Safety starts before we ever step onto the job. š·āāļøā #HurricanePreparednessWeek2026
Where history meets imagination. āØ
Along the banks of the Savannah River in the heart of Savannah sits the iconic @plantriversidedistrict , a place powered by history.
Originally built in 1912, this facility once served as a key generating plant for Georgia Power, helping bring electricity to a growing Savannah and fueling the cityās progress for decades. ā”ļø
Today, itās been transformed into a vibrant, multicultural destination, proving that as Savannah continues to grow, so do the possibilities for Georgiaās future.
And this is just the beginning⦠š Stay tuned.
Have you ever seen a row of orange cones and thought, āDo they really need all of that? I can see them working!ā š¤š§
Those cones are actually a key safety step designed to protect both you and our crews. ā ā ļø Before work begins, cones are set out to increase visibility and alert drivers that crews are actively working along the roadway. šš¦ŗ
In Georgia, thereās also a Move Over Law. šā”ļø This law exists to help keep everyone safe.
So next time you see orange cones and our crews at work, please remember to slow down and move over when possible. It makes a real difference. š·āāļøš§ Safety is a team effortāthanks for doing your part! š
