today is 10 years to the day that my debut LP ‘Garden Reach’ was released on @rudimentary_records - equally feels like it was yesterday and a life-time ago ha. this was the first time anybody wanted to release my music and was a big encouragement to me to keep going and keep creating. so grateful to @andy_rudimentary + @roryrudimentary for giving me the opportunity, and to anyone who’s been rocking with me since those times! love you all forever x i’m currently working on LP3 and have a lot of music lined up for the rest of the year which i’m SO excited to share. Rudimentary also have an excellent compilation ‘Occupied Minds’ coming out tomorrow- a sonic act of solidarity standing with the people of Palestine, with all proceeds going to Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) supporting urgent care and long-term recovery on the ground. /music X

happy release day to @joe_yaroze whose ‘jbreezesunset’ EP is out today on @little_corn3r . joe is an old friend i vividly remember meeting at a mutuals flat after a boxed party circa 2015 (?)- we were all sitting round a bedroom floor drinking, smoking and taking turns to play music from an aux until the small hours. joe played a cluekid track (hovercraft or weed smokers) and i instantly remember thinking ‘we’re going to be friends…’ ‘jbreezesunset’ is a kind of completion to an idea that began back then, and his reimagining of some of those synths (made by joe himself) and atmospheres- to conclude the series on Little Corner is an honour. thank you joe x /album/jbreezesunset-ep (✿◠‿◠).

→ K7 Illustrations et design graphique pour le musicien londonien Geoffrey Harrington aka G3 qui produit de la musique depuis maintenant plus de dix ans et a sorti son premier album en 2023. Pour la réalisation d’un univers graphique et d’une identité graphique forte, nous nous sommes rencontrés pour la première fois en personne à Londres en juin 2023, après plus de dix ans d’échanges sur les réseaux sociaux. Je lui ai montré des esquisses et nous avons discuté du projet. Nous avons passé du temps dans un pub à discuter de nos passions respectives sous l’œil attentif de vieux lords peints. J’ai imaginé un château et son fou du roi: un danseur-cueilleur. Je voulais mélanger un style urbain avec les jeux de rôle dans un univers chevaleresque, entre profondeurs et complexités de surfaces et de volumes. L’idée était de créer une image paradoxale: un poster à insérer dans une cassette audio et qui joue avec les faces de cette boîte. Mais aussi jouer avec le poster à mettre dans sa chambre et dont on peut choisir quel côté afficher. Ce poster est devenu un poster recto-verso. D’un côté, l’illustration avec le château en arrière-plan et de l’autre, un détail, le mur du château, dont les fenêtres-vitraux forment les noms des morceaux. La musique a une grande importance dans ma pratique et les images se sont créées en collaboration avec l’artiste, autour de sa musique et de son support de publication: la cassette audio. Quel plaisir de retrouver cet objet emblématique de mon enfance. C’est ainsi que j’aime voir les projets riches se former et prendre du sens: quand il y a une connexion et une résonance entre les différentes pratiques artistiques, entre jeux visuels et couleurs sonores.
