Our Fearless, Yet Persistent team represented our community at the Washington DC Dragon Boat Festival and brought home another gold medal! 🥇 The team closed out the day by dominating the final race and finishing over a full boat length ahead of the competition to secure the win. Thank you to every paddler for proudly representing FYP DC on and off the water. We’re already excited to run it back for Year 3 and bring home another one! Huge thank you as well to everyone who supported the team throughout the journey. Special shoutout to Mike Reyes, @johngvictoria , Coach Francis, Coach Jill, and @wika.designs for helping make this all possible.

Thank you to GWU PCS for the opportunity to be part of this incredible event! Also shoutout to our FYP members @spiceandfit & @jasgotahaircut for choreographing the traditional tinikling 🎋 and FYP President @beapinkie for choreographing Tahing Baila 😄

From dance floors to the DJ booth, Filipino Americans have been respected innovators and collaborators since the early days of hip hop. So why don’t we hear more about it? During this Saturday’s event, Mark Villegas will share some research from his book Manifest Technique: Hip Hop, Empire, and Visionary Filipino American Culture. Then, we’ll get to hear directly from two DMV-based culture creators who are immersed in the local hip hop scene. Come join the conversation as we unpack these ideas together. RSVP with the link in our bio!
