Last year I had the chance to attend one of @alexandraslava 's portrait workshops where I started this bust. The last slide you can see the progress after the one day we worked from the life model and after that I continued working on it on my own.
It was a great experience and it's such a different feeling to sculpt in clay instead of doing it digitally. Much more satisfying!
Would love to have the opportunity to do more sculpting from life models in the future!

This one references the sculpture "Mater Dolorosa" by Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux which has a moving story behind it.
Was a lot of fun to sculpt it asymmetrical from the beginning.

This study was an attempt to learn more from 'Arcane' in which I created an original character from scratch and created an animation clip of that character in the style of the show. Except of the audio and the background image I created everything by hand.
I created a FACS based blendshape rig to try out the facial performance capture with FaceCap but I wasn't satisfied with the results so I created a full body and face rig and animated everything by hand.
Lightningboy Studios tutorials were a great starting point for the process!
Thanks to all the artists that were involved in bringing the show to life and especially to Christian Linke who initiated the entire vision!
