ICYMI: José was released last week and is finally able to bond with his son, Mateo. What happened to José should have never happened. The ongoing attacks on DACA recipients cannot continue. Check out our new campaign to stand up for DACA recipients at the link in our bio.
Delay. Deny. Detain. Deport. This is the playbook for the Trump’s Administration’s latest attacks on DACA recipients and their families. Yesterday, we launched a new campaign to sound the alarm about the ramp-up in attacks on DACA recipients and the DACA program.
This new campaign and resource tracks the full scope of the administration's campaign against DACA recipients: renewal backlogs forcing eligible recipients out of status and out of jobs, a surge in arrests and deportations of people with valid legal protections, and the ongoing DACA litigation.

Hear from Najee, Amy, and ML as they share what it’s like to navigate Missouri’s parole system. Their experiences shed light on why so many people in Missouri remain incarcerated well past their parole eligibility date.
We’re proud to work alongside our Missouri partners @mojusticeorg_ , Show Me Justice For All and @empower.missouri to fight for a fairer, more transparent, and meaningful parole system.

We recently launched a new campaign to highlight the renewed attacks on DACA recipients across the country, and we want to hear from you!
If you or a loved one with DACA has been detained, deported, or experienced delays in renewal processing, email us at [email protected]
Your story matters, and it has power. We want to amplify it to bring more attention to the attacks on DACA recipients as we call on the Administration to end these attacks and for Congress to pass a permanent solution for Dreamers.

This week, Maria de Jesús Estrada Juárez and Stephanie Villarreal spoke at a Spotlight Forum hosted by the Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary, @senatordurbin . We’ve worked with them and their families over the last few months to draw attention to the alarming increase in attacks on DACA recipients. They shared how they and their families have suffered from unlawful immigration enforcement.
Maria is a DACA recipient who was wrongfully deported to Mexico, separated from her U.S. citizen daughter for more than a month, and finally allowed to return to the U.S. after a court order and other support from Congressional offices and advocates.
Stephanie is a U.S. citizen and wife of Juan Chavez Velasco, a 35-year-old DACA recipient, who was detained by ICE agents in Texas while on his way to deliver breast milk to his newborn daughter in the NICU. Three months later, he remains detained, while Stephanie is struggling to raise and support three children without her husband.
Thank you to @senatordurbin , @senalexpadilla , @senadamschiff , and @repvicentegonzalez for your advocacy on behalf of Dreamers and for calling attention to this issue.
The Trump administration is delaying DACA renewals, detaining, and deporting Dreamers. These actions are not only deeply hurting DACA recipients, but they are also destabilizing their families and American communities.
Thank you, @senatordurbin , for writing this op-ed and for your ongoing leadership to advocate for DACA recipients.

ICYMI: Last month, @gachamber1915 joined @fwdus to host a roundtable with local industry leaders to discuss the importance of global talent on Georgia’s economic success.
The President of the Georgia Chamber, Chris Clark, joined @fwdus ’ Jaime Rangel to highlight some of the important items they discussed during the roundtable.

The rapid expansion of the ICE’s 287(g) Task Force Model means local law enforcement agencies are getting huge financial incentives to target and arrest people who appear to be immigrants, disproportionately impacting Black and brown communities across the country. A rural Idaho sheriff’s office alone received at least $116,000 for helping ICE. Our VP of criminal justice research and policy, Felicity Rose, recently shared our findings about the amount of money moving to local law enforcement and the concerns about the lack of oversight.

Wife of wrongfully detained DACA recipient: We’re raising three children in Texas. He was driving to the hospital to deliver my breast milk for our baby in the NICU when a car full of ICE agents took him. Delays in renewal processing have now caused his status to lapse.
Wrongfully deported DACA recipient: I’m a mother. I help homeless people find safe housing, meals, and support. Three months ago, the life I have built was in danger. I walked into a scheduled immigration appointment and was handcuffed, detained, and deported. All with DACA.
Too often, incarcerated people don’t have in-person parole hearings and lose the opportunity to communicate their growth, remorse, and readiness for reentry.
States should guarantee in-person hearings for all parole-eligible individuals. Read our full recommendations for building fairer parole systems at fwd.us/parole.
José has been released, and he’s finally able to hug his family. He was finally able to hold his baby, who was born while he was detained. The fight continues to reunite our families every day. #FamiliesBelongTogether
