Today we celebrate World Wildlife Conservation Day, and there’s no better voice to highlight than Kiloku, our incredible rhino monitor here on Borana.
His work and the work of our entire conservation team is dedicated to protecting wildlife and raising awareness about the environmental challenges we face.
It has been a remarkable year for conservation. Our populations of endangered species continue to grow, including: 🦏 Over 280 black and white rhino across the Lewa-Borana Landscape
🦏10 Rhino calves born on Borana 🦁 20+ lion 🦓 60+ Grevy’s zebra 🦒 Thriving numbers of reticulated giraffe
Every one of these animals is a testament to the commitment of the people on the ground, like Kiloku, who monitor, protect, and safeguard their future every day.

Borana Conservancy is dedicated to the sustainable conservation of land and wildlife. All proceeds from livestock and other commercial enterprises are invested into a wide range of community focused conservation efforts. Together with @lewa_wildlife this landscape forms one of the largest continuous rhino habitats in East Africa.
