I have been going to @mpex_photo_video since I first began my photography journey in the 90s. They are not only the best camera shop in the Midwest, they’re arguably one of the best in the country. All that to say that I’m over the moon to have my @fuzzedglass filters for sale in their shop. The designs in store aren’t available online, so pop in if you’re in Columbus.

finally got to see and shoot @acres_uk at @rockefelleroslo 🄰 did this one a little bit differently, because I really liked the colours of the light, and it worked perfectly with the @fuzzedglass filters by šŸ˜Ž still figuring out how they work best, and sometimes it just clicks, and sometimes it doesn't. some live lights are just 🤌🤌 #livemusic #livemusicphotography #gigphotography #creativephotographer #photoedit @ben_acrs @alex_acrs @ash_acrs

One of my favorite challenges at each tennis tournament is bringing a fun, creative, engaging portrait session for media day! Obviously these players are so often in front of the camera that I not only do my best to make it something that visually fits with the theme of the tournament but is something the players genuinely enjoy and want to be a part of. This year for the @mensclaycourt @riveroakscc , we had a space just outside the players lounge where we had a couple of minutes with each one to grab some photos and video for various usages throughout the tournament and calendar year. A simpler setup was the way to go in Houston as we have so many various things to cover with a smaller team but the challenge of that is always welcomed and I think something everyone had fun with and was asking about thanks to the ā€œbrokenā€ filter (@nickfancher / @fuzzedglass ). In the past I’ve done things like original Polaroids for the @bnpparibasopen where we auctioned off autographed copies for charity or utilized screens, etc. Depending on resources, space, time, and concept, we’re able to adjust and find a setup that works no matter the size of the tournament or the space we’re given to work within. Thanks to @triedtruetv & @amychecho for capturing and putting together this video showcasing some of our favorite portraits from the various players who came through. I also very much appreciate all of the help in coordinating players, gear, etc @melissacaouki ! And thanks to @learnertien for checking that my gear wasn’t busted! Certainly appreciative of the time and effort of the various @atptour players who came through our set and to @bronwyncgreer , @hleff23 , and @peterholtermann in trusting us to do our thing! Tennis is a world I just happened to fall into many years ago but it’s one I’ve truly loved getting to know. Doing these portrait sessions and taking part in various media days really helps get to know the various athletes we photograph on a daily basis and see them for the great people they are off of the court. It’s something I certainly don’t take for granted. #USClay #tennis #sportsphotography #sportsphotographer #portrait

Our founder @nickfancher figured out how to rig a @fuzzedglass filter to his iPhone. It holds a 67mm lens and he used step up rings to allow varying sizes of Fuzzed glass. He used a Kood rotating ring (from the UK) so he can rotate the filter to vary the colors, as he shoots. There are a couple filters left in the shop. Also DM if you’re interested in a sneak peek / first dibs on the new batch. 🌈✨

After a brief hiatus we’re back with new filters! Trying out some new ideas, such as multiple small holes as well as larger holes. Link in bio to snag one. As a reminder, if you want to maximize the size of the bokeh as well as create a smoother transition it’s best to use the wide apertures. If you want more definition in the cracked glass then you can use an aperture in the range of 4.5-7.1, though this reduces the size of the bokeh. It’s also important to consider the focal length of the lens that you’re using with the filter. Long lenses have a more subtle effect, while wide angle lenses show the full effect.

When using a @fuzzedglass filter in a spot projector (this was done with a @nanlite_global Forza PJ-FMM with a 36° lens) you can choose whether to focus on the resin, the cracked glass, or even blur it out to create light similar to sun through a stained glass window. Take note that when using one of our filters in a spot projector you’ll want to have a fan running through the opening to keep the filter from burning or cracking (see last slide for an example). There are a couple dozen different sized filters available in the shop (link in bio). More colors and sizes coming soon! 🌈✨

Part 2 of my recent shoot with @sydneyjordan.x We shot on a pile of dirt, in front of a pond, and in a parking lot. I used the new @westcottlighting FJ400II and fired it several hundred times at nearly full power. Color me impressed. I also used a range of different @fuzzedglass filters to transform commonplace scenes into fantasy worlds 🌈✨ #incameraeffects #nophotoshop #fuckai #nickfancher
