We’ve always believed design should feel right.
Now, we know why.
Our Managing and Creative Director @ms.angelaferguson was recently diagnosed with ADHD — a moment of deep clarity that affirmed what we’ve always known: that sensory intelligence and intuitive design matter.
We’re relaunching Futurespace through a neurodivergent lens — one that values difference, empathy, and lived experience.
And we’re expanding — from workplace strategy, workplace design, building refurbishment and asset repositioning into education, wellness, and hospitality — bringing 24 years of human-focused design into new frontiers.
Because great design isn’t about ego. It’s about impact.

Branching out of our Australia isn’t anything new to us!
This beautiful space in Hang Zhou (杭州) captures the clean, conservative and modern look that our client’s name is synonymous for. Using a formal and restrained visual aesthetic, we captured the essence of our client’s brand through muted colours, refined furnishings and sleek fixtures.
Combining traditional and contemporary work settings, we ensured to incorporate and diversify their physical workplaces to support all inhabitants and their preferred working method. Widening their access to collaborative spaces, informal meeting areas and social settings within their workplace, we created a space that uses innovation to promote new work practices, health, wellbeing and biophilia.

We love to see our work come alive!
The life cycle of a design isn’t a linear, straightforward path – there’s a lot that goes into these works, both in terms of the design itself and the construction. There are occasional leaps and bounds made to problem solve, fast paced decision making, and plenty of collaboration across all teams.
So, seeing the physical manifestation of all this is extremely rewarding. Witnessing the development and evolution of a project unfold is very exciting, as we edge closer to completion.
Can’t wait to see the finished product? Make sure to keep up to date all things futurespace to see the end results!

We’re proud to showcase one of our recent office designs!
The concept behind such a space centres on the representation of Australia.
The difficulty of symbolising such a diverse landscape within a singular interior was challenging - how do we establish an individual, unifying idea while being conscious not to overwhelm users?
This is where “The Sensory Microcosm” came in: we decided to weave ideas of Australia throughout the space by engaging all 5 senses, creating a harmonious balance of sight, sound, touch, smell and taste.
The chance to create a holistic, impressionable and unique experience by engaging users’ senses is almost limitless, and so we took it upon ourselves to produce a coherent expression of the many distinct aspects of this beautiful country.

Michael McQueen, an award-winning speaker, change strategist and bestselling author, understands that in today’s business environment, we can’t expect to do the same actions we’ve always done, in order to achieve the results these actions used to produce.
At Futurespace we believe this thinking can also be applied to the workspace environment. People’s working lives are vastly different than they were before the pandemic, and so their workspace experience must be adapted to align with this. Most pre-covid workspaces don’t provide the environment or experience staff are looking for – so a new, strategic approach is essential.
Our “4 Step Guide to a High Performance Workspace” is a transformation initiative created by Futurespace, bringing together years of data and research to help business leaders navigate the current landscape of work. Our guide is a DIY solution that addresses culture, technology and place to enhance the value of commercial real estate whilst creating a workplace where people truly want to be.

Since our establishment in 2001, Futurespace has been researching and designing the future of the built environment, especially the spaces in which people work. This has resulted in an extensive bank of knowledge reflective of the ever-changing world of work, particularly in regard to post covid commercial spaces.
As a strategy led interior architecture practice, it is our mission to eliminate our clients’ most pressing challenges issues via responsive and considered problem solving. Our research has shown there are 3 Key Challenges that most organisations are facing right now in the post pandemic, hybrid landscape.
If you want to address these challenges, our DIY guide to a High Performance workspace helps businesses transform their existing environment to ensure an experience of work that maximises the opportunities for their real estate portfolio.

OUR PUPPY WON!!!
We’re thrilled to announce that our reimagined Magis Puppy won #topdog at the @livingedge event at #Saturdayindesign on the weekend. We would like to thank @livingedge for creating such a fabulous competition.
And whilst winning is amazing, the process of pulling this together as a team was really the ultimate prize. We named our puppy “Spike” for his spikey “fur” and used around 3,000 pencils to create him. A full description is below:
Our Response to the Magis Puppy Design Challenge was rooted in our commitment to collaboration, sustainability, and the core principles of design ie: drawing. As a team, we not only came together to conceptualise the design, but also actively participate in its production, ensuring a holistic approach.
Emphasizing sustainability, we chose to recycle materials already available in our studio, giving new life to resources that were otherwise unused.
Additionally, our design paid homage to the enduring value of hand drawing, using pencils as a medium to reflect our belief in this fundamental aspect of the creative process. WE chose to retain some of the original puppy’s features, recognizing and building upon its status as a successful design icon.
