Understanding the EU 10-year passport rule...🛂
Countries in the European Union do not allow travellers from outside the EU to enter their borders if their passport was issued more than 10 years ago from the date of issue.
To be in line with the rules and not face any problems the next time you try to fly, your passport must be less than 10 years old from its issue date and have 3-6 months left on its expiry date.
‼️NOTE - each destination in Europe can have different expiry date requirements so make sure to check the entry requirements of where you're going!

☀️ Deze maand verscheen de Monitor Collecties! Hierin zijn de cijfermatige ontwikkelingen van de openbare bibliotheekcollecties bijeengebracht en geduid. De cijfers geven inzicht in uitleningen, reserveringen, titelspreiding en abonnement-structuren en actualiteit van de collectie, aangevuld met inspirerende verhalen van collega’s uit ons netwerk over de rol van de collectie in de maatschappelijk educatieve bibliotheek en de veranderende rol van de collectiespecialist.
☀️ Begin juli gingen vertegenwoordigers van Noord- en Zuid-Hollandse gemeenten, bibliotheken en de provincie met elkaar in gesprek tijdens de Netwerkbijeenkomsten over burgerschap. Hoe kunnen gemeenten en bibliotheken op dit gebied samenwerken?
☀️ Wij laten ons graag inspireren door bibliotheken en hun mooie initiatieven! Daarom gingen we samen met ruim 30 programmamakers en collectiespecialisten op bezoek langs verschillende bibliotheken door het hele land die een mooie Third place hebben opgezet.
☀️ In Bibliotheekblad verscheen een interview met Probiblio's directeur-bestuurder Frans Bergfeld over het 75-jarige bestaan van Probiblio.
☀️ Probiblio verwelkomde maar liefst 5 nieuwe collega's! Lisette Kuijt, Dalila Bakir, Elena Binkhuijsen, Esmee Koemans en Sanne van 't Slot. Welkom allemaal!
☀️ Marielle Bouter en Levien den Boer van de KB vertelden ons uit eerste hand over hun ambitieuze ontwikkelplannen voor het Bnetwerk, dat hét online kennisplatform wil zijn voor de bibliotheek. Het platform komt daarmee tegemoet aan de grote behoefte van bibliotheekmedewerkers om alles op 1 plek terug te kunnen vinden. Het project is dan ook onderdeel van onze gezamenlijke netwerkagenda.
☀️ We ontvingen spreker/trendwatcher Danielle Schreurs van @futuremaps in ons kantoor aan de Spicalaan, waar zij ons inspireerde met haar lezing ‘Van Boomer tot Zoomer’. Haar verhaal was in essentie een pleidooi om te leren van nieuwe/andere generaties. En om uit je generatiebubbel te breken, dat doe je door je mening soms uit te stellen, een andere bril op te zetten en te zoeken naar wat ergens achter of onder zit.
