Das Label Future Nuggets aus Bukarest ist gewissermaßen ein Bindeglied zwischen Vergangenheit und Zukunft. Als Fortsetzung der rumänischen Musiktradition von Volksmusik bis zu psychedelischer Jazz- und Rockmusik und von neuen Strömungen wie dem Manele inspiriert, schaffen die Künstler*innen des Labels einen völlig neuen Sound, bei dem eine gewisse Nostalgie mitschwingt, der aber durch die Kombination mit Hip-Hop und R’n’B einen modernen Geist widerspiegelt.
In diesem Jahr besuchen die Future Nuggets die Hallo: Festspiele bereits zum zweiten Mal und präsentieren in einem Showcase ihre gesamte musikalische Bandbreite: Neben der neugegründeten 5-köpfigen Band deathbycoconut, treten die Solokünstler*innen Suce Fraga, Plevna, Inana und Utopus, sowie Ana Sechereș als DJ auf.

The label Future Nuggets from Bucharest serves as a kind of bridge between the past and the future. Continuing the Romanian musical tradition, from folk music to psychedelic jazz and rock, and drawing inspiration from new trends like Manele, the artists of this label create a sound that carries a sense of nostalgia while also reflecting a modern spirit through the fusion of hip-hop and R’n’B.
This year, Future Nuggets is visiting the Hallo: Festspiele for the second time, showcasing their entire musical range: In addition to the newly formed five-member band deathbycoconut, solo artists Suce Fraga, Plevna, Inana, and Utopus will perform, along with Ana Sechereș as DJ.

Ion D (@ion_d_ ) presents a three hours selection of unreleased tracks extracted from the deep digital vaults of Future Nuggets (@future.nuggets ), productions brewed along the years in its main lab: N-am Studios. Untraceable jams, unheard genres, parts of a massive underwater body that holds the released tip of the iceberg.

Finally welcoming Suce Fraga and Plevna tonight, playing their genre defying live acts for the first time at Platforma Wolff while we join forces with Future Nuggets for an all night label showcase. Utopus and Totally Spice! are also joining the bill with their eclectic, language traversing DJ sets.

Future Nuggets is an independent label from Bucharest. Suce Fraga brings pseudo-ghetto sensitivity, fragile neo-femme power and genre cannibalism. Traversing trap, hip-hop, r&b, and no-step grooves.
Plevna is an oriental electronica expert, delivering compound grooves on various time signatures.
Utopus - club heresies, electrified tribalism and fragmented techno-melancholy.
Totally Spice! - Techno-pop love, UK garage from the heart, broken rave anthems and pink psychedelia.
