Teaching 1st graders about Hip Hop is planting seeds of culture, history, and self-expression
In our class, students explore Hip Hop as a powerful art form born in the Bronx, rooted in African Diaspora traditions and community. We learn about the pioneers like DJ Kool Herc, Afrika Bambaataa, and Grandmaster Flash visionaries who used music, movement, and creativity to bring people together.
Through dance, rhythm, and storytelling, students discover the 4 elements of Hip Hop DJing, MCing, Breaking, and Graffiti while building confidence, teamwork, and their own unique voice.
We don’t just learn steps… we learn legacy, leadership, and love for the culture.

Children’s Enrichment
Early Childhood Education is the perfect doorway into creativity, cultural awareness, and connection. Through music, movement, and storytelling, our young leaders are exploring the world—one rhythm at a time.
In our classes, we use melody, voice, and call & response to travel across cultures. Today, we journeyed to Ghana where students learned through song, rhythm, and joyful expression.
From drumming patterns to movement and spoken word play, our children are not just learning, they are experiencing culture, building confidence, and developing a deep appreciation for the global community.

FUSHA KIDS — A Legacy in Motion
On May 16, 2025, something powerful was born.
FUSHA KIDS was released into the world as more than just music — it is legacy work.
Created by Funmilayo Chesney, Artistic Director of FUSHA Dance Company, this children’s empowerment project blends African rhythm, movement, affirmations, and leadership to uplift the next generation. Through song, dance, and culture, FUSHA KIDS reminds our youth:
