for my @subtleradio residency this month, i invited @cisinthiseconomy + @funk.alchemist for the first jazz to jungle special ! it bounces all over - from jungle, rare groove, drumfunk, atmospheric bits, and more tracklist and some of their favourite selections are featured here 🎺 some words and info about the artists below! stay tuned for the next one! Nago is a turntablist/DJ based in The Hague/Rotterdam. she utilizes her experience competing in world caliber DJ battles and her love for curation to strike a healthy balance between technical skill and deep curation to creating sets that appeal to both the more nerdy DJs and the more musically inclined party go-ers. her diverse musical background is reflected in her selection, going from hip-hop and rare groove to the faster club genres, such as drum & bass and footwork. Funk Alchemist is a DJ and producer based in the UK, hosting a monthly show on Svara Radio and appearing on stations like Kool FM and beyond. Having played across London, Liverpool and Manchester, his approach draws from both radio and dancefloor contexts, focusing on flow, percussion and deeper atmospheres. In his own words of his jazz to jungle special, ‘it’s a shorter mix I’ve tried to cover couple different styles so hope you enjoy. lots of talented producers featured in this you should go check out their work if you liked the sounds in this mix!’

JoBird, an incredible selector repping the @spun.mcr crew, she always brings the unexpected and her sets are a treat to listen to, so glad to have her back on the show.
