🇯🇵 Izakaya Niningashi 🍣 Missing Japan? The closest that you can get is probably by indulging in some authentic Japanese yummy goodness! Have heard so much about this Izakaya place & finally got to try it! Izakaya, simply means “stay-drink-place”. Usually a bar setting where you can experience a wide range of Japanese snacks and of course… alcohol! Here are some of the items I’ve tried: 1) 4 pax assorted sashimi platter (5 kinds) 2) Wagyu Yukke Sashimi (raw beef sashimi w/ egg yolk) 3) Bansuke - 2 kinds (Grilled mackerel - Hokke & Akao) 4) Kanpachi Kama (Grilled stingray fins) 5) Grilled rice ball with Ikura 6) Wagyu diced steak (100g) 7) Hot sake One quote to describe the assorted sashimi would, “freshness you can taste”. This is probably one of the freshest sashimis I’ve tried, apart from that just look at the plating! How pretty 🤩 There are various kinds of sashimis you can go for (5/7/9 kinds). This is one of the dish that I thought was most worth it, given the thick slice & assortment! 👍🏻 The raw beef sashimi was totally mind blowing! (Mainly because it’s my first time trying & definitely not the last time!) At first bite, I was so amazed by how well marinated the beef was. The egg yolk added a creamy texture to overall mouthfeel. (Highly recommend!) For the grilled fishes, my fav would be the grilled stingray fins as it’s so so soft & had the level of umami-ness. For the mackerels, it was a tad too salty for my liking and for texture wise, definitely not as soft as the stingray fins. Adding some carbs to the meal, we ordered the grilled riceball with Ikura. I would say it’s pretty unique because it gives off the pleasant chestnut flavour and goes really with the bursting ikura! Was tempted by the diced beef so just had to order some to try! Nothing special but it was still a good dish! Of course, no meal is complete without… drinks! It’s my first time trying hot sake and wow! Was pretty amazed by how much smoother the sake was when it’s hot. Not gonna lie, it goes really well with the cold sashimis! 🤗 As this place is really popular, you might want to reserve in advance to save yourself from any disappointment! 🥳

🥯National Bagel Day🥯 Two Men Bagel House, needs no introduction as it’s probably one of the go-to bagel places for most! If you are visiting during the lunch period, get ready for the long queue as it’s gonna take quite awhile! Thankfully, I went early (1130am) and there was no crowd at all! 🥳 My go-to order whenever I’m at TMBH would be Lox w/ cheddar bagel (smoked salmon, onions, fried capers, tomato, scallion cream cheese, lemon juice). If you look at the bagel to fillings ratio, you can tell how generous they are with their fillings! 🤩 also, if you are wondering if you’ll be full from just the bagel itself? The answer is…. YES. With the thick bagel and generous fillings, you’ll definitely fall into a food coma after that. Excess saltiness from the salmon is balanced out by the cream cheese and tomatoes. Sipping into spring at Golden Seed 🌱 Where every cup of Xi Hu Long Jing told a story. delicate, fragrant, and quietly complex. From learning its origins to experiencing the first flush in both hot and cold brews, it was a beautiful reminder that tea is more than a drink, it’s a culture. Which side? I’ll go YEAST SIDE. If you’ve heard of Yeast Side, you probably know them for their sourdough pizza (bcos is really soooo good). Can you imagine having honey and blue cheese on your pizza? Me neither until I tried. Trust me, it really tasted so good. Instead of going for the 4 cheese, I went for 5 cheese instead! It felt like a group of cheese marrying each other, super good blend! Not just their pizza, their focaccia bread was pretty on point too! Generous filling that filled me entirely 🤩 I went for the cauliflower hummus & spicy popcorn chicken. I had this for lunch & it give me a super good KO 🫢🫢 Will be back again to try out their other pizzas, but I’m already craving for the 5 cheese pizza (dammit, it’s so addictive!!!!)

NO GST, Cosy vibes, Affordable meats, it checked all the 😍😍 when choosing for a place to eat! Was craving for Korean food & as always, I turned to my trusty best friend - Mr Google Maps & keyed in “Korean food near me” & bam, BBQ friend was the first to appear & with a 4.8 ⭐ ratings, pretty decent I thought! At first look, I was amazed at the place as it really looked like those authentic Korean kbbq places that I’ve been to when I was in Korea. (Just imagine, no fancy decor, metal tables). For the menu wise, they’ve got quite an extensive offerings too! & best of all, they’ve got a lot of promotions (e.g, the one I’ve got is - cook yourself & you get an extra plate of pork/beef slices) I mean, cmon it’s FREE, why not right? Checked out Pica Pica and it was such a good vibe night ✨ We tried out a whole spread to share, Pan Con Tomato, Patatas Bravas, Gambas, Tortilla Chorizo, Jamon Croquetas… then went on to Grilled Chicken Chop, Pork Chop and their Seafood Paella.
