Introducing our resident Sarah AlNuaimi
@sarahaalnuaimi 🔔:
Sarah AlNuaimi is an Emirati poet, artist, photographer, and industrial engineer whose multidisciplinary practice moves between photography, painting, printmaking, and poetry. Rooted in abstraction, her work explores galaxies, replacement cities, mental health, and the tension between structure and chaos. Through meticulous patterns, sprawling roots, and distracted silhouettes, she creates work charged with a sense of release, curiosity, and exploration. Alongside her artistic practice, she organizes women’s stargazing trips, guiding participants through observations of planets, constellations, and nebulas using her telescope.
Since making her poetry performance debut in 2019 at Abu Dhabi Art Fair in collaboration with MKS Jewelry and Untitled Chapter, she has performed at literary and cultural events including House of Wisdom’s World Poetry Day and Rumi Poetry Night, Emirates Literature Foundation Festival’s “Fresh Air Fresh Lyrics,” and Emirates Literature Foundation community nights. Alongside her performances, she has facilitated workshops exploring writing, painting, nostalgia, and cultural exchange with organizations including Dubai Library, Sharjah Art Foundation, House of Wisdom, and The Flying Saucer. In 2020, she participated in Akaas Visual Arts’ “Promising Artist Exhibition.” Her poetry has been published in Sail Publishing’s 2022 anthology Baring My Heart, as well as in Sekka Magazine and the US-based Starcrossed Anthology.
