Introducing our resident Sarah AlNuaimi @sarahaalnuaimi 🔔: Sarah AlNuaimi is an Emirati poet, artist, photographer, and industrial engineer whose multidisciplinary practice moves between photography, painting, printmaking, and poetry. Rooted in abstraction, her work explores galaxies, replacement cities, mental health, and the tension between structure and chaos. Through meticulous patterns, sprawling roots, and distracted silhouettes, she creates work charged with a sense of release, curiosity, and exploration. Alongside her artistic practice, she organizes women’s stargazing trips, guiding participants through observations of planets, constellations, and nebulas using her telescope. Since making her poetry performance debut in 2019 at Abu Dhabi Art Fair in collaboration with MKS Jewelry and Untitled Chapter, she has performed at literary and cultural events including House of Wisdom’s World Poetry Day and Rumi Poetry Night, Emirates Literature Foundation Festival’s “Fresh Air Fresh Lyrics,” and Emirates Literature Foundation community nights. Alongside her performances, she has facilitated workshops exploring writing, painting, nostalgia, and cultural exchange with organizations including Dubai Library, Sharjah Art Foundation, House of Wisdom, and The Flying Saucer. In 2020, she participated in Akaas Visual Arts’ “Promising Artist Exhibition.” Her poetry has been published in Sail Publishing’s 2022 anthology Baring My Heart, as well as in Sekka Magazine and the US-based Starcrossed Anthology. Follow Sarah’s residency journey with us over the coming months!

We’re thrilled to announce the start of our Book Making Residency 2026 ✨ Conceived as a programme that fosters experimentation, research, and reflection, the residency will unfold over the coming months, culminating in a publication by each of our residents at the end of the year. Last weekend, we had the pleasure of welcoming Nada Almosa @elnadawiya and Sarah AlNuaimi @sarahaalnuaimi for an immersive introduction to Olga, our riso printer, alongside a collaborative session that resulted in a group poem and zine. If you spot our residents in the studio, feel free to say hello. We’ll be sharing their journey along the way. Welcome to the Full Special Studio family, Nada and Sarah! 🖨️🪩🕺🏼

Print Announcement / Anunsyo!! ✨ Last summer, we had the pleasure of hosting artist, designer, and educator Catherine Chiuco @chiucocfc or a short residency at our studio. We’re excited and proud to finally share some of the work produced during her time with us! Drawing inspiration from four Filipino folktales, Catherine created a series of illustrations that tap into her multilayered heritage while playfully exploring symbols with both national and deeply personal significance. Available at our online store and our studio in @m39.ae : - Bakit may Kaliskis ang Isda? - Why the Fish have Scales? 🐟 - Ang Alamat ng Piña - The Legend of the Pineapple 🍍 - Bakit Tumitilaok ang Manok? - Why the Cock Crows? 🐓 - Ang Pinagmulan ng Tagalog - The Origins of Tagalog ⚔️ Catherine Chiuco is a designer, artist, and educator whose work explores the intersections of culture, identity, and purpose. She holds a BFA in Graphic Design from Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Nottingham. Raised between the Philippines and Qatar, she draws from these perspectives to create work that connects people, memories, and places. Catherine approaches art and design as acts of storytelling, tools to reflect cultural values, preserve memory, and invite reflection. Her work is driven by a curiosity about how culture and personal histories shape an ever-evolving sense of identity, and how visual language can protect knowledge, honor everyday rituals, and foster empathy.
