We’re supporting one of the UK’s most significant offshore wind developments, delivering a major geotechnical investigation campaign for @sserenewables at the Berwick Bank B offshore wind farm site off the coast of Scotland.
Using our geotechnical vessels Fugro Quest and Fugro Zenith, we’ll gather high-quality #GeoData to inform the final design of fixed-bottom turbine foundations, helping to derisk construction and support safe, reliable turbine installations.
Building on our involvement at Berwick Bank since 2019, we’re proud to continue working on a project that could become the world’s largest offshore wind farm on completion, with the potential to generate enough clean electricity to power more than six million UK homes each year.

More choice offshore. More freedom to deliver. 🚤
Our uncrewed fleet is growing, with Blue Essence® #6 now undergoing sea trials ahead of certification.
Once commissioned, this 12 m uncrewed surface vessel (USV) will join our expanding Blue Essence® fleet operating globally – giving you more options when planning offshore inspection, monitoring, hydrographic and geophysical surveys.
Built for over‑the‑horizon operations, Blue Essence® is proven offshore technology that gives us the agility to match the platform to the task and deploy a USV in place of a traditional vessel. Safer operations, up to 95% reduction in emissions and compressed delivery times. 💡

Infrastructure doesn’t stand still.
Rivers shift, ground conditions change, and operational needs evolve, making reliable, up-to-date geospatial data essential to managing infrastructure over time.
Against this backdrop, the US Army Corps of Engineers has awarded Fugro a five-year IDIQ contract for surveying and mapping services supporting civil works and military infrastructure programmes across the US and overseas.
Our work will focus on delivering decision-ready data for long-term infrastructure planning, monitoring and management, combining crewed and uncrewed platforms with cloud-based, AI-enabled data processing and expert oversight.

Unexplained underground water can quietly put an entire building at risk.
In a high‑end residential compound in Cairo, persistent underground water threatened a building. Traditional investigations couldn’t pinpoint the source, and further drilling risked making things worse.
We applied our GroundIQ® ground‑modelling approach, combining non‑intrusive surveys with existing borehole data to build a full 3D picture of the subsurface.
That insight changed everything:
✅ The water source traced to irrigation drainage
✅ Targeted remediation instead of widespread drilling
✅ Just two wells installed
✅ 15–20 boreholes avoided
✅ Follow‑up surveys confirmed reduced water volumes

Turning complex ground conditions into a reliable connection: Fugro supported the construction of Tonga’s new Fangaʻuta Lagoon Bridge using O-Cell® pile testing to validate foundation designs in challenging reef environments.
Spanning 720 metres, the bridge will strengthen the link between Nukuʻalofa and Tongatapu, reduce traffic congestion and provide a vital emergency evacuation route for local communities.
Delivered safely, on time and with zero incidents, the project demonstrates how advanced geotechnical testing can reduce uncertainty and support resilient infrastructure in remote locations. Strong collaboration with McConnell Dowell was key to making this happen.

🏆 OTC 2026 Spotlight on New Technology Award
Our Fugro GeoAI Framework will be recognised at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) next week! This expert‑led approach uses artificial intelligence to accelerate early offshore survey interpretation, helping teams assess risk and compare options sooner, while maintaining engineering quality and expert oversight.
As offshore projects face increasing data complexity and schedule pressure, this solution supports earlier, more confident front‑end decision‑making by rapidly converting survey data into engineering‑ready information.

From data to decision. Data takes center stage for Alliance for Advanced Maritime Intelligence (AAMI) at SeaSEC 2026.
Our consortium pushed the boundaries of what integrated offshore intelligence can deliver, bringing together acoustic, visual, and situational data streams to create a richer, more dynamic picture of activity around the offshore platform. By harnessing these diverse inputs, our combined solution sharpens real‑time awareness and strengthens the link between raw data and operational insight.
An exciting day that underscored the power of data, and how it can be used for faster, more accurate decision-making.

We’ve officially opened our dedicated indoor eROV testing pool, strengthening our in-house testing capabilities and how we prepare projects for the field.
The new facility allows all manufactured eROVs to be tested in a controlled indoor environment, improving flexibility and accessibility while enabling testing whenever needed. Over time, this also supports more efficient and cost-effective operations.
The opening ceremony was led by Helen West, Global Business Line Director, and Mark Drury, General Manager, Global MAI. It included a ribbon cutting and the first activation of an eROV in the pool, officially bringing the facility into operation.
Thank you to the Fugro Subsea Technologies team and everyone involved in delivering this facility. A great example of teamwork and a clear step forward in advancing our subsea capabilities.

🎧Uncrewed vessels and unprecedented data.
The UK’s AR7 offshore wind awards in January 2026 were a strong boost on the road to Net Zero 2050, but delivery is the real test.
In the latest @engineeringmatterspodcast episode, Roger Birchall @SSErenewables technical authority for geophysics, explores what it takes to build mega projects like Berwick Bank safely, efficiently, and on budget.
A key theme? High quality, high resolution seabed data.
🔍 From identifying igneous dykes to de-risking client sites, the need for accurate survey insights to understand the seabed has never been greater.
🎧 Marco Gillison, our Global Director, Marine Geophysics and Simon McIlroy, Survey Systems Architect, explain how the industry has evolved from relying solely on crewed vessels to split scopes embracing uncrewed surface vessels (USVs) - and why that shift is transformational.
🌊Introducing Blue Prism®
Our new 17m, multi-sensor, next generation USV:
• First fully dedicated site screening geophysics USV
• Collects diverse #GeoData products simultaneously
• Fully controlled from our onshore remote operations centres
👉 Whether you're in offshore wind, marine geophysics or simply fascinated by marine robots, this episode is worth a listen.

When offshore wind enters a new region, the first project matters most.
@petrobras has selected Fugro to conduct the geotechnical site investigation for the Rio de Janeiro Offshore Wind Pilot Project, the first licensed offshore wind project in South America.
First‑of‑a‑kind projects help define how new markets take shape. Early Geo‑data plays a critical role — reducing uncertainty, supporting safe design and building confidence for what follows.
With delivery led by our Brazil‑based teams and informed by offshore wind experience worldwide, this project reflects how Fugro supports responsible offshore wind development from the very start.
👉 Read the full announcement to learn how this landmark project is helping shape offshore wind in Brazil and across the region.
