Hailing from Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Lumpur, Split Hate! stands as a four-piece hardcore punk band driven by urgency, defiance, and impact. Built on a raw, no-frills foundation and a strict DIY ethos, the band delivers a sound that feels immediate and unfiltered. Their approach is simple but intentional: aggressive riffs, relentless pacing, and messages that speak plainly without disguise. Every track is fired off with high intensity, yet carries a sharp sense of memorability, hooks that stay long after the noise fades.
Taking cues from the early wave of hardcore, Split Hate! draws clear influence from Minor Threat, Sniffing Glue, Formaldehyde Junkies, Government Issue, Social Circkle, and Verbal Abuse. It’s a sound rooted in the past but not trapped by it, fast, confrontational, and grounded in the idea that music should move people not only sonically but physically and mentally. There is no overproduction, no excess layering, only direct contact between band and listener.
In a landscape where polish often replaces presence, Split Hate! moves in the opposite direction. They keep it rough, keep it fast, and keep it honest. Because hardcore was never meant to be comfortable, it was meant to be felt.
