«Using an austere iconography, KK Bicalho suggests stories “to be completed,” whose origin or outcome remains unknown. Nevertheless, there are references in her work to art history, from landscape painting to Suprematism
and abstraction. That is to say, the artist works in a dual scenario represented by art and organic life—one cultural
and the other natural. Both worlds are cut out to reappear as active silhouettes on a continuous background.»

Este fin de semana continúa la exposición ¿De quién es este mar?, del artista Manuel Eduardo González.
“Ese mar de muchos dueños es el mismo que trajo a Cristóbal Colón a la “Tierra de gracia”, el de la epístola libertaria suscrita por el Libertador en Jamaica, el de Juan Antonio Pérez-Bonalde en su “Vuelta a la patria”, el de las perlas de Cubagua, el de los sediciosos de Machurucuto, el de las procesiones marianas en peñero, el de la “Balandra Isabel” llegando al puerto, el de los residuos del deslave y el de los destructores del Comando Sur. Ese mismo mar es también el de la luz volátil que pintó Armando Reverón, el de “La Margarita” retratada por Alfredo Boulton y el de los mapas intervenidos de Claudio Perna.”

Este fin de semana continúa la exposición ¿De quién es este mar? de Manuel Eduardo González.
“El Caribe que perfilan los fotogramas fílmicos y las fotos instantáneas de Manuel Eduardo González, es un umbral no una definición. Mar mutante frente a un coloso de tierra que despliega sus bondades en “cada vario clima” de la tórrida ribera. Interfaz acuosa que franquea el paso hacia los médanos secos, las llanuras anegadas y los picos nevados. Mar de vidrio opaco y filtros rojos donde asoma el destello fluctuante de Venezuela, “The Best Kept Secret in the Caribbean”.
