In light of the male-dominated film lighting industry in Malaysia, Far Side Key Lighting is committed to providing at least one slot for formal paid internship training to a female applicant to learn the skills and knowledge required to be a productive member of the lighting department. Every effort will be made to ensure a safe and welcoming work environment on and off set with additional care taken to explain how to recognise and safely avoid and report workplace harassment and safety incidents to superiors. FSK Lighting is made up of a small team of passionate freelance filmmakers obsessed with lighting craft and technology operated by @davidchoo__ with experience in film lighting for feature films, TV and commercials, live event/stage lighting programming & design for music and corporate events, & small-scale video content creation. There was a brief that went out the window the moment the bunch of us stepped in. Armed with enough pain meds and a why not attitude. Things turned out surprisingly well. Sony Fx3 with the iso cranked way high paired with some very old nikkor lenses stopped way down gave this piece a very crunchy look without it looking too clinical. From the get go, we knew we wanted to do most effects practically. When the pain meds and mismatched lunches kicked in, everything from fluted pieces of plastic to lens whacking and slow shutter. Nothing was off the table. It was most definitely not a complicated day, but we’ve definitely made it complicated just cause :).
