Maxim Sarychau is a visual artist working with photography, a photojournalist, and a programmer. He works on long-term visual projects at the intersection of documentary photography, photojournalism, and art. In his practice, Maxim explores themes of violence, vulnerability, and exploitation. He is interested in the political and human dimensions of collective memory and history. Since spring 2022, he has been living in Poland.
Maxim’s projects have been presented in numerous collective and solo exhibitions, including Kasarna Karlin (Prague, 2018) and the Latvian Museum of Photography (Riga, 2020), as well as in collective exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art (Kraków, 2022) and at festivals such as Circulation(s) (Paris, 2020) and Interphoto (Białystok, 2024). His works have been published in international outlets, such as the Wall Street Journal, Stern, Der Spiegel, Die Zeit, Dekoder, Courrier International, Meduza, The Telegraph, and Le Monde Diplomatique.

Максім Сарычаў – візуальны мастак, які працуе з фатаграфіяй, фотажурналіст і праграміст. Ён працуе над доўгатэрміновымі візуальнымі праектамі на скрыжаванні дакументальнай фатаграфіі, журналістыкі і мастацтва. У сваёй практыцы Максім даследуе тэмы гвалту, уразлівасці і эксплуатацыі. Яго цікавяць палітычныя і чалавечыя вымярэннi калектыўнай памяці і гісторыі. З вясны 2022 г. жыве ў Польшчы.
Праекты Максіма былі паказаны на шматлікіх групавых і персанальных выставах, у тым ліку ў Kasarna Karlin (Прага, 2018) і Latvian Museum of Photography (Рыга, 2020), а таксама на групавых выставах у Museum of Contemporary Art (Кракаў, 2022), фестывалях Circulation(s) (Парыж, 2020) i Interphoto (Беласток, 2024).
