Hello to some new followers ! 👋 It’s been a while since I have shown my face here , so thought I’d do another little intro. My name is Sinéad Frew, I am a full time accessories buyer in the corporate world , and a designer & screenprinter for my own small brand on the side. I love the world of graphic design and art and relocated to Berlin last year to work in one of the most creative and vibrant European cities. früjunk is a brand for the people that shy away from the mainstream. It’s for the bold and dramatic, the witty and cheeky, the truth seekers, the conscious thinkers , the ‘weirdos’ and the people that generally don’t follow a trend or crowd. I am massively inspired by the punk subculture and DIY ethos. I think living your truth is about the most punk thing we can do in todays world. I design and print everything to order , in very small batches to minimize waste and use mostly Fairtrade and organic materials where I can. Because f**k SHEIN and what it’s doing to the world. ‘We don’t just want a slice of the cake , we want the whole bakery’ I was recently inspired by a fantastic documentary called B-Movie:Lust & Sound in West Berlin. The city was a melting pot of experimental art and lifestyle thanks to a very specific set of political, economic, and social circumstances that existed here at the time. For me it drove home the message about not just living for long term success , but for the experience of life in the present moment. I created my own typeface with strips of black duct tape, and then screenprinted the design onto fabric. It is very much rooted in the punk influences and aesthetic that I love so much.
