Breaking News: Artist Asad Raza (@asaaddo ) is appointed Artistic Director of FRONT 2025; and scholar and curator Magdalena Moskalewicz (@madaskalewicz ) assumes the Cleveland-based role of Chief Curator.
“I admire FRONT's vision of art as a catalyst for social change and its commitment to equitable investment in creative communities. I am therefore delighted to be joining FRONT’s leadership team and continuing its impactful work in the community of Northeast Ohio that nonetheless resounds on a global stage. I look forward to realizing bold new approaches to exhibition-making with each triennial’s artistic director and adding depth to the scholarly and curatorial partnerships that are FRONT's foundation to benefit a wide range of audiences.” –Magdalena Moskalewicz
“Our fragile planetary existence demands we find new ways to discover our interconnectedness with other beings, cultures, natures, and worlds—exploring this has been my ambition in art. I relish the chance to continue this exploration collaboratively, at the scale and with the level of ambition of FRONT. Though a Buffalonian also from the shores of Lake Erie, FRONT International introduced me to Northeast Ohio and made me realize: I love Cleveland!” –Asad Raza

Dale Goode’s sculptural compositions are culled from materials scavenged from his surroundings.
Describing his process, Goode states that “Once I get these substrates built and they’re sturdy enough, I start applying the fabric and different materials—pitchforks, shovels, clothes, shoes, hats, old mop heads I use for hair, sailors’ caps, ice skates, roller skates. I first lay the pieces out before I make them permanent. I position them to where they’re going to look—it’s all spontaneous—and each piece takes on a life of its own.”
For FRONT 2018, Goode exhibited an untitled sculpture (pictured here) at 1474 E. 112th Street in Glenville, which was on view daily from dawn to dusk during the run of the triennial, July 14 – September 30, 2018.

FRONT 2025 Artistic Director and FRONT 2022 Artist Asad Raza (@asaaddo ) presents "Ge is for Gaia" at 3A Gallery in New York, opening January 26, 2024.
"Raza’s "Ge" is an endless and evolving video narrative that blends fiction and documentary as it moves around the planet. The video serves as a dynamic container for Raza’s wide-ranging thinking, research, and writing around ecology. Named after the original name of the goddess of Earth, Gaia, "Ge" juxtaposes multiple thematic sections, which change with each release of the video. Audio description and subtitles form an integral part as the work plays with the distinction between "description" and "content", underscored by the repetition of specific sections with different narration and captioning." –Prem Krishnamurthy, FRONT 2022 Artistic Director
