Had a really fun shoot as my first of 2026. The brief was a fun, creative promo video for a voice over company based in Reading. It was shortlisted to a specific script and whilst it was a long day going up and down some tiny stairs, we made it work and the edit is coming together very nicely!

Shot on location on a farm in Hertfordshire, we had the use of 3 amazing tractors, an entire barn and their land.
Big thanks to @farmstockofficial for bringing me on for yet another fun project and to first time collaborator @louis.gaffer for expertly lighting the place up.

This is a shot breakdown of a music video I did last year as some people might be interested in it.
This was quite a simple setup with only one lighting setup involved. The only "film" light I used was the @aputure.lighting 60D through a small softbox and a folded sheet of 1/2 CTO to match the Tungsten bulbs in the background.
The other lights were RGB stage lights which weren't colour accurate in the slightest but we actually managed to get them close enough for the warm look we were going for, albeit more of an orange than a warm light.
I used two lenses on my Canon C70, the Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 which is my workhorse, along with my vintage Zeiss 50mm f1.7 lens adapted to EF mount. For the different shots, it was just a case of shooting the song in multiple angles and moving the keylight to where it would be a far-side key for that shot with motivation being provided by the backlights. The 60D is so lightweight and small that I was able to move this around quickly.

It has finally happened, I've dipped my hand into 35mm photography thanks to my sister and her boyfriend and their amazing present! Considering my only experience with film in the past is this disposable cameras you had on school trips, I'm pleasantly surprised how well these turned out.
I have to say it is a wonderful experience. From trying to calculate your exposure (ok, an app helps a lot with that) and cherry picking your shots, it really made me think about my composition in a reserved way. I had 36 shots, I paid £20 for the film, I have to make it count!

I've been working with Chris Barrie on a new documentary series destined initially for YouTube, we're almost there with the first episode which will feature this #triumphmotorcycles and a classic #landroverdefender. It's taken longer than expected due to some mechanical issues which are to be expected with vehicles of that age. Camera was working fine though 😉
