Movements don’t rest on the shoulders of one person, they thrive on collective strength. 💪🏾 That’s why the Aya Fellowship focuses on leadership teams.
In March, we gathered five powerhouse leadership teams at the Historic Jenkins Farm in Alabama to kickoff a 12-month journey of endurance, strategy, and collective power. Together we explore conversations around the current cultural and political terrain organizations are facing and what it looks like to prepare and strategize for the moment ahead.

We remain grounded in the history of the many changemakers who have come before us. This Black History Month, we’re lifting up the legacy of giving Black communities have long developed. In this ecosystem graphic, we aim to exhibit the dynamism and the various ways Black Philanthropy operates in and for the community. This work reminds us that Black Philanthropy has always been and always will be core to Black culture.
Our offices will be closed, Friday, January 30, in observance of a day of collective action and solidarity. We are pausing work to stand with the people of Minnesota and all communities resisting the unprecedented wave of federal immigration enforcement that is destabilizing communities and threatening fundamental democratic norms.
We encourage everyone to use this time to learn, reflect, and connect with those affected. Today, we stand unequivocally with those demanding a future rooted in dignity, safety, and justice.
