In My Backyard: MOVE 📍
If you’ve ever wandered through South End, chances are you’ve passed Music Yard. Maybe you spotted the giant disco balls? Maybe you’ve been to Emo Nite? If you don’t know the vibe, you can picture it - loud music bumpin and late nights dancin 🪩✨
Well, someone looked at that same space and thought something’s missing. Four years ago, Lanna started MOVE with just yoga on the lawn. She wanted to bring a little movement and a healthier alternative to the nightlife scene the Music Yard is known for. And then people kept showing up and asking for more. So now there’s Pilates, dance cardio, sunset vinyasa flows, pop-ups all over the city and a run & walk club that formed this year.
The Pilates classes especially are a whole thing. We’re talking DJs, coffee vendors, high energy from the jump. Not your quiet studio situation at all. I have personally been victimized by a pilates class 💁🏻♀️
More importantly, MOVE is for everyone. All levels, come as you are. Whether you’ve been curious about trying something new or you just moved to Charlotte and need your people, there is room for you here. Lanna didn’t expect it to grow like this but she kept showing up and the community met her there 🤍

Ribbonwalk Nature Preserve 🌱
118 acres of forest tucked on the North side of Charlotte. You will never know this is Charlotte once you’re there, I was completely surrounded by beautifully lush trees, saw a couple butterflies and stumbled upon SO many sunbathing turtles! 🐢 here are some shots from the trail.
If you do end up exploring this lovely place, that makes me so happy, BUT you gotta pinky promise you’ll do so mindfully, kindly and respectfully. Stay on the trails, don’t litter, let the wildlife be wild. That’s what cool people do ✨
