Three Creeks, Bourke’s Pass, New Zealand, January 2024
Driving from Lake Tekapo to Christchurch, a small cluster of shops caught our eye that made us turn back around.
Three Creeks felt like stepping into a time capsule. A general store sat beside a 1950s service station, alongside a blacksmith setup and a trading store filled with vintage machinery and memorabilia.
Out front, a small cart sold coffee, snacks, and of course… New Zealand’s famous real fruit ice cream (iykyk).

One of the most challenging but rewarding hikes Zoe and I have done.
We started at 2am, and within 15 minutes, we were already questioning if we should turn back.
The incline was so steep that it felt like we were parallel to the ground at times. With an ascent of 1,300m, we stopped every 50 meters trying to catch our breath.
After 2.5 hours, we finally made it to the top in time for sunrise.
This may be one of my favourite photos I’ve taken - but mainly because of the climb, the heavy camera and how close I felt to passing out LOL.
Shot on Portra 400 with the Mamiya 645 1000s.

Located on Lake Wānaka, the lone willow tree stands in shallow water against the Southern Alps. It’s now become known as “New Zealand’s most famous tree”.

Milford Sound, Fiordland, New Zealand, January 2024
Milford Sound was formed by glaciers which carved a deep valley during the last Ice Age. This was later flooded by the ocean to create a fiord. Its peaks rise over 1,600m above sea level.
Standing on the boat and looking up at the mountains, you forget how small we actually are.

Formed by glaciers during the last Ice Age, the steep cliffs of Milford Sound collect heavy rainfall, creating waterfalls that appear after storms.
