It’s been a while…. I struggle when the world is such a mess, my head is too noisy to be really creative and the doing good work has been busy. I’ve been a vote counter on election night and it’s a buzz of energy and purpose. Getting a message that one of the Brum counters was rocking this heart necklace, getting commentary from the panel and then a shout out thanks to my friend @bytinafrancis being eagle eyed and on the ball, was a delight last night. I’m not sure I woke up this morning with any more hope when I saw Keir announce the party win. A few good eggs doesn’t make it worth taking the whole dozen home, we’re still going to be led by a party with division on the agenda. This old Brum council logo that used to adorn the cities underpasses really is the perfect icon! To whichever lovely human wore it, I salute you. Huge thanks to all those that work the polling stations and the counts, the behind the scenes organisers and to those that turned out to vote, or spoil their papers! More change can only occur with greater personal agency and less voter ambivalence! Here’s to hearing the word ā€˜change’ excessively over the coming weeks and maybe more posts and shiny things from me! šŸ“· by @hankandmargotuk

It’s been a while but the passing of the legend that is @iris.apfel required noting. As a kid my style icons were the cast of Jem and the Holograms, then Grace Jones and Vivienne Westwood before I hit my 20s and realised I wanted to be Iris Apfel when I grew up. She was one of the first to become a display head for my jewellery…. Ok she kinda looks like Deidre Barlow here too! But her outlook on style, accessories, and ageing is pure gold! I even bought a masonic apron inspired by the breadth of her collection! Here’s to living life as authentically as possible right till the end, even when your bones are too tired for the weight of those bangles!

What are you up to this weekend? If you’re London based or bound then @craftyfoxmarket are at Kings Cross Crossing with a host of awesome makers! I’ll be there on Saturday! I’ve already got my xmas shopping planned as well as some treats for myself! If like me you’ve left most things last minute then this is a great way to shop independently, from small businesses and without the worry you’ve bought a bunch of stuff that will be in the sale on the very day you gift it! The trains are running, huzzah, get all xmassy and be in London this weekend!

ā€œTell me why I don’t like Mondays!?!ā€™ā€ Oh yeah it’s cause Bertha is playing up so I can’t cut at the moment and Frilly wars are going down! What I do love is seeing the epic @happy.stuff.studio rocking her Halloween Shelfie! Although we all know Horror is for life, just like being a Goth, its not just for spooky season! I often fall asleep to Alien and The Thing! Horror have the best soundscapes and scores to fall asleep too when they’re all brooding… just gotta make sure you set the TV timer to turn it all off before it get’s noisy, fraught and intense! I feel really bad that I’m terrible at snapping myself in other maker’s wares! I love Vic’s kitties the best, being the proud owner of her kitty in flower’s necklace. She also does the best grumpy faces on her designs! I’m fully here for the surliness today. This is also a reminder to be ready for her xmas drop! I got a sneak peek and it’s on my teat yo’self shopping list!! Thinking about that has perked me right up! Now time to see if I can fix Bertha!

There’s more going on than just Friday 13th in the Frilly Halloween Section! I’m personally not a fan of Jason in his hockey mask. I always thought Casey Jones in TMNT wore it better! Do you break out one of the many Jason films every Friday 13th? Which is your fave? #friday13th #horrormovies #horrorjewelry #halloweenjewellery #acrylicjewellery #broochaddict #filmbuff #horrorcritic

As Halloween approaches, it’s time to start thinking about how you can show off your spooky spirit! Luckily, my latest Halloween-themed jewellery can help you do just that. It’s not just any jewellery, but a Halloween shelfie necklace where you get to choose your own films! Not only do you get to wear a fun piece of jewellery, but you also get to showcase your favourite spooky movies. You can choose between a brooch or necklace version which means that you can customize it to fit your personal style. Whether you’re a cat lover, believe in the power of the spooky crow, want a creepy gravestone with someone’s name or a pumpkin sweet bucket I’ve got your covered. Looking at all of the film options available, it’s clear that there’s something for everyone. From classic horror movies like ā€œEvil Deadā€ and ā€œThe Exorcistā€, family favourites like ā€œHocus Pocusā€ and ā€œCasparā€ to more recent favourites like ā€œGet Outā€ and ā€œHereditary,ā€ the selection is pretty diverse! It’s a fangtastic way to show off your love for Halloween and horror movies. So why not treat yourself to a Halloween shelfie necklace and let your spooky self be known! #broochaddict #acrylicbrooch #acrylicjewellery #halloweenjewelry #halloweenjewellery #acrylicnecklace #halloweennecklace #broochhandmade

The Halloween Shelfies are live!! You’ll find them in the Halloween section on Etsy…. Just didn’t get round to my own site before heading out for the day! I couldn’t possibly make all the horror films when there are so many! But if there is an absolute fave you always watch at this time of year just pop me a message!

Wow! We’re hit Autumn hard this week! Summer is over! Here is a pic of one of the gulls I made for @covtm to mourn the end of the good weather. Just wanted to say a huge thanks to everyone that came out and bought goodies @stirchleycommunitymarket and @harbornehandmade at the weekend! It was so good seeing your faces, seeing my fellow makers and hearing your joy at seeing me out and about again IRL and online! The Halloween VHS shelfie will be online soon! I’ll let you know when I have a launch date! There are films that need tweaking and the full shelf needs testing!

Amongst all the prep for the weekend I’m bundling up a batch of Barley the Cat to send to @flaxmaltings These brooches are super sassy and only available from their shop. They’re busily approving a version of Flax the Cat to join Barley. As a cat lover it’s been ace working with the team there to bring them some unique gifts!

That heatwave has finally broken!! Huzzah! It means I can think about layering clothes ready to transition into proper Autumn. That means Halloween!! Gettting my butt back into gear I’ve just found all sorts of half drawn designs. One of which is the Halloween Shelfie with a video library longer 31! For the lucky Brum based lovelies I’ll be bringing a limited run of this video library to @stirchleycommunitymarket this Saturday and @harbornehandmade on Sunday! I know! i know! I go from radio silence into full maker mode out of no-where! I’ll be sharing as I make this week so keep an eye out! So tell me what’s your favourite scary movie?? 🄤 šŸæ šŸŽ„ šŸŽƒ šŸ‘» šŸ’€

This legend left the house without earrings and so left with a fresh pair and matching necklace! Sometimes you just feel naked without your accessories. Loving the co-ordination with the shacket! #aitp23 @aitpleamington @qtrmstrs
