The Valley View Park Mural Project has now raised $25,675 toward our $54,000 goal — just shy of the 50% mark! 🎉
This 230-yard mural along the LBJ/White Rock Creek Trail corridor will transform an overlooked concrete wall into a vibrant community landmark celebrating nature, art, and our neighborhood.
Every donation helps move us closer to the next section of the mural and increases positive activity, visibility, and community pride in our park.

Meet the artist behind the transformation happening at Valley View Park — Joel Cruz of CRUZAART! @cruzaart
Joel is a Texas-based muralist and self-taught artist whose work is rooted in creativity, community, and connection. Raised in Plano and inspired by years immersed in street art and large-scale public expression, Joel brings bold vision and heart to every wall he paints.
What makes this project even more special is that Joel isn’t just painting a mural — he’s becoming part of our park community. From volunteering in The Woods at Valley View Park to using VR technology to map out the mural design before painting, his creativity and dedication have already made a huge impact.
As a husband and father, Joel believes art should bring people together and create spaces that feel welcoming, cared for, and inspiring. His vision perfectly aligns with the mission of Friends of Valley View Park: creating safer, more vibrant public spaces through community activation and connection to nature.
We are so excited to have Joel leading this 230-yard transformation along the White Rock Creek Trail corridor and LBJ access road. Be sure to stop by, watch the mural come to life, and say hello if you see him painting! 🎨🌿✨
