One of the most special moments at The Great Big Free Book Fair was watching children meet author Sara Echenique, enjoy her Storytime, and leave with a free signed book to add to their home libraries. Moments like these inspire young readers and create memories that last far beyond the day.

Today, stories found new homes at The Great Big Free Book Fair at the Naranja Branch Library!
Thanks to the Miami-Dade Public Library and the Books & Books Literary Foundation, children left with free books in their hands and inspiration in their hearts. From Storytime with author Sara Echenique to arts & crafts, laughter, and community connection, the day was a reminder that books have the power to bring people together and spark a lifelong love of reading.

Here at the Friends of @miamidadepubliclibrary we love chatting with others and sharing our love for this library system that has done so much for our community! From after school programs to special events and all the things in between, MDPLS is transformational and we are so glad to have such an innovative library system in our community.
Fascinating evening at @greenspacemiami with the @friendsofmdpl and @georgemckenziejr , chatting about George’s career at National Geographic (and specifically all the amazing adventures he’s had right here in Florida!) I mean, did you know you could see the Milky Way from Kissimmee, how cool is that?! ✨
(And a little PSA for local literary lovers: When you become a member of the Friends, these events are free to attend and truly add so much value to your life💚🙌Highly recommend!)
