We’ve all seen it. There’s been an explosion of toddlers and puppies in Dogpatch! With the end of sheltering in place, there’s a new world for both to explore and interact.
In response to FOEP members - families with little ones, families with pups, and families with both - we have partnered with Larry Johnson, owner of K9 Comrades, to design and deliver workshops focused on safety, best practices and having fun while we share space in our wonderful Esprit Park. Larry, a trainer for the SFPD Tactical K9 Unit, has over 20 years experience training families and their pets.
@wirecutter@nytimes confirming what we’ve been saying this for years: artificial turf is bad for the environment, and bad for San Francisco. And yet @sfrecpark insists on installing it because they want to save on maintenance costs. They wanted to turf over the entire esprit park at one point. Link to article in bio!
Did you know Esprit Park is one of the parks in SF that allows bouncy houses? You can reserve a spot and pick from a @sfrecpark approved vendor and voila - hours of fun!

@sfrecpark will provide the tools, Coffee and bagels from @dailydriversf and pup treats from @pawtrero and @pawpatchpastries for volunteers. Join us and get to know your neighbors while having fun outdoors!

Summer camp is in session at Esprit! If you see them, say “Ciao!” to the kids from our lovely neighbor @lascuola_sf - For our park goers with pups, please keep dogs on leash when the kids are around. And if you have a friendly pup, ask the teachers before allowing the kids and pups to say hi!
We’re still really bummed that @sfrecpark is going to put a layer of non-recyclable, heat-trapping plastic in this beautiful space. But hey, we fought our best fight.

Finally got to hang with @dogpatchpaddle and take a tour along the coast - saw seals, birds, jellyfish and some huge boats! Such an amazing view of the city that is so unique and special.
