The Lee Valley is a habitat for many birds. Some of the birds live here for only part of the year and spend the rest of their time in other countries. Birds migrate for food, climate, to mate and to find safe places to build nests and raise their young. Migrating birds navigate using the Sun and the stars, Earth’s magnetic field, physical landmarks, and their own mental maps. They don’t have signs that tell them where to go like humans do. As a way for us to imagine the navigational challenges that the birds face we have made a series of signs for them. The signs can be found around Coppermill Lane on the approach to the Walthamstow Wetlands. Signs for Birds has been developed by us over the last couple of years with local residents and school kids at Coppermill Primary School @friendsofcoppermillprimary in collaboration with @what_if_projects funded by @stjamesbiglocal and @lbwalthamforest fabricated by @omnicolour and these beautiful photos are by @thomasadank

Last call for estate agent boards! Each board we hang in a front garden makes the school £££. It's an incredibly easy way to help the school and raise money with the PTA. If you're interested you can message me directly here with your name and address or reach out to your school rep. (Actual board size much smaller than photo 😂)

Next Bake Sale is this Friday the 15th of May hosted by Year 1 and 2. Please join us after school from 3:30 pm for some delicious treats. Parents you can drop off your cakes and treats on Friday morning which will then be sold by the council. Last month's bake sale raised an impressive £310.10! Many thanks to all who baked, contributed, volunteered, or just enjoyed the food. Friendly reminder to please properly label any common allergens. This includes eggs, dairy, and honey. And of course NO NUTS please. Looking forward to it!
