Last night at Bar Madame Simone, we celebrated the launch of Renee Ultado’s debut collection, Brown Sugar. The room was alive—loud, happy, and filled with conversation—yet a collective hush fell over the crowd as Renee took the floor. In that stillness, he shared three poems that reminded us all why we were there.
