My journey began around 2013/14 when I started finger-tutting and gloving. I entered my first beginner’s competition for fun about 6 months in, and came in second! After an expensive pair of gloves were lost (or stolen) I stuck to it, just without the light gloves. I can’t remember when I got my hoop, but it was another flow form I enjoyed. Since getting to use other hoops, I’ve lovingly nicknamed her Mjolnir (she’s heavy!!!). I think of flow as not only enjoying the music but as merging movements with different props and/or the body with the music, ultimately personifying the flow of the sounds.
