The end of the year means adventure over at Frick United!
On Monday members of the Frick Climbing Club took their skills outdoors to climb at Castle Rock State Park
And on Tuesday, students with excellent attendance hiked down the Tennessee Valley Trail to play by the ocean.

Students at Frick participated in a "Reverse Science Fair" learning about research being conducted at UC Berkeley and hearing about what it's like to work as a scientist.

1,000 trips = hundreds of thousands of moments unlocking the senses.🌿
When young people step outside, something shifts.
They look closer, listen deeper, feel more, and move with intention.
For our 1,000th outdoor learning experience, @oaklandgoesoutdoors and 100 @frickunited 6th graders headed to @ebrpd Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park to do what we always do: slow down, engage the senses, and let nature be the teacher.
A banana slug. A rushing creek. Moss beneath their fingertips. Birds cutting through the quiet.
Moments you can see, hear, and feel.
These aren’t just details, they’re doorways to curiosity, confidence, and belonging.
Here’s to 1,000 more. 🙌🏽🌲

Take a look back at last week’s 1,000th experience in nature with @frickunited at @ebrpd ‘s Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park.
Hear directly from students and teachers about what time outdoors means to them. These stories are just from one trip, so imagine this impact multiplied by 1000 and you can get a sense of the importance of our mission at @oaklandgoesoutdoors .
And we’re just getting started. Together, we can ensure every Oakland student has transformative access to the outdoors. Join us! 💚

Today was a big milestone for @oaklandgoesoutdoors and our Oakland students! 🥳 We celebrated our 1,000th outdoor learning experience since launching in 2018 at @ebrpd ’s Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park with the entire 6th grade class from @frickunited , and we’re feeling ALL the joy of this achievement!
1,000 trips = hundreds of thousands of meaningful moments in nature for Oakland youth, and that is worth celebrating. This milestone reflects the collective effort of a community committed to the belief that every young person deserves access to the outdoors!
Special shout out to our partners @bayareawildernesstraining , @oaklandedfund , and @ousdnews , who have been part of this from the beginning.
We have more content coming from this momentous milestone and all the ways we celebrated during #EarthWeek, so stay tuned for those recaps. In the meantime, drop in the comments your most memorable experience in nature!

Art classes took a field trip to the Albany Bulb to explore how materials can be re-used and re-purposed to make art!
Looking forward to all the art they'll make for the Family Art Night!
A big thank you to @everlawinc for hosting our students!
They toured the office, learned about careers in tech and law, and got a glimpse of what the future could look like. Experiences like this inspire our students to dream big. #frickunited #FUAL #school
