Went down the AI rabbit hole again after attending a talk by @mirelo.ai and @trippytrippypictures recently — their production breakdown was super impressive and the push I needed to actually revisit where these tools are at.
I used @florafaunaai to turn an illustration by @limlim.terter with her permission into a 3D claymation character — and honestly, the process was actually really fun.
That said, it's still a real amount of work if you care about the output, which I find quite comforting. I sketched out a rough room layout, used it as a reference sheet, and built my prompts around that to create the image that I had in mind and reduce randomness in the creation.
Sometimes you get fantastic results really fast and then seconds later things are getting stuck and hard to figure out.
Things have evolved rapidly over the past year — excited to see what’s next.

I ate the forbidden fruit. Lately, I’ve been diving deeper into AI-assisted video creation. I’m still unsure how to feel about it, but it’s shaping the creative landscape whether we like it or not. Exploring and tinkering with its boundaries—where it fails, where it excels—has been actually quite fun and enjoyable.

After editing my own first video clips 20 years ago, then starting to use After Effects 15 years ago (also during one of Basti’s earlier films), and figuring out how to be creative in C4D 10 years ago, I feel very happy and relieved to still be able to learn new things like color grading and to find genuine joy in doing so ♥️.
