CALIFORNIA GIRLS was made by Yara, Myra, Benjamin and Freja. It is the story of all of us; the story of grief, the Beach Boys, death and popcorn.
I am beyond thankful for every single person that came to the theatre and trusted us to tell them a story. I am thankful for every artist who gave their time to help us create this world. I am thankful for art and overhead projectors and genuine conversations and most of all I‘m thankful for the three incredible people who said yes to dive into the unknown when I asked them if they wanted to play around with me and make something sweet. I love you guys.
California Girls isn‘t over, only for a bit. But we‘ll return on different stages soon enough. As if we could ever stop playing!
I‘ll look back on these days when I‘m older, listen to the Beach Boys and think, those really were the good old days.
