Summerwater was seeded into life, using the residual energy of my 2023 album, ‘Black Dog’. Some of those songs feature in the series and much of the murky, contorted sounds, together with the big emotional sweeps, piano flourishes, and haunted strings are all present.
Huge thanks to my collaborator from afar, the extremely talented, Alexander Painter, whose cello offerings allowed me to build orchestral-scale pieces that feel warm, weird and real.
