We demand an end to the militarization of our communities. Police and ICE are tearing families apart, racially profiling our people, criminalizing poverty, and inflicting violence on Black, Brown, immigrant, and working-class communities. These systems were never designed to keep us safe. They were built to control and punish. We demand an immediate stop to all deportations. We demand the defunding of police and ICE and the reinvestment of those resources into housing, healthcare, education, mental health services, and community care. We demand the closure of jails, prisons, and ICE detention centers that cage human beings and destroy families. Our communities deserve safety without surveillance. We deserve care without criminalization. We deserve dignity without fear. #DefundICE #DefundPolice #AbolishICE #AbolishPolice #CommunityCareNotHarm

Happy Hmong Day! Today, we honor the resilience, survival, culture, and leadership of Hmong people. Hmong communities continue to face violence through deportations that tear families apart and deny our people safety and dignity. Honoring Hmong people means fighting for our communities and organizing for a future where our families can stay together and thrive. That is why we are calling on our community to support the Southeast Asian Deportation Relief Act (SEADRA). SEADRA would: • End deportations for many Southeast Asian refugees • Restore due process protections • Keep families together • Create pathways for stability and dignity Our people deserve care, safety, and the right to stay home. Take action and support SEADRA today at bit.ly/SupportSEADRA #HmongDay #SEADRA

This May Day, we stood with the May Day Strong Coalition representing working class, immigrant, refugee, Black and Southeast Asian communities. We showed up with our elders and youth to be clear about the future we are fighting for. We know that protecting our communities means fighting to abolish systems of harm. No ICE. No police. No cages. No war. Our communities deserve housing, healthcare, education, food, safety, dignity, and care. From our Hmong elders holding banners, to youth leading chants and marches, to community members building connections across movements, these photos are a reminder that our power has always come from each other. The work did not end on May Day. The work to protect and build commnity power continues every single day. Join us in organizing for true community control and collective liberation. We do not need more punishment and surviellance. We need investment in care, healing, and our people. Our community is our campaign! #MayDay #AbolishPolice #NoICE #CommunityControl

We want community power and control over the police! The Police Civilian Oversight Board (PCOB) exists so community members can report and investigate police abuse and misconduct independent of MPD. But instead of strengthening it, the City of Madison is trying to weaken it and limit its ability to hold police accountable. Join us to learn more about the fight for community control, the organizing that made the PCOB possible, and what the current attacks on the board mean for our communities! 📍 Freedom, Inc., 2110 Luann Ln. 📅 Wednesday, May 13, 2026 ⏰ 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM ✨ All ages welcome. Light refreshments provided.

WE NEED OUR PEOPLE IN THE ROOM ✊🏾 The Common Council is trying to weaken the Police Civilian Oversight Board (PCOB)—taking power away from the community and limiting accountability over police. We fought for community oversight. We are not going backwards. Now is the time to show up and speak out. 🗓 Tuesday, April 21 ⏰ 6 PM 📍 215 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Room 215 Register to oppose and speak against the proposed changes. Black and Southeast Asian communities—and all communities impacted by policing—deserve real accountability, not watered-down systems. Pack the room. Bring your people. Protect our power.

#SexualAssaultAwarenessMonth is a time to reaffirm our support for survivors and reassert our shared responsibility to create safer, more compassionate communities. Too many people still face violence, stigma, and barriers to healing, reminding us that sexual violence is not an individual issue but a collective one. By showing up for survivors, fostering honest conversations, and committing to prevention, we move closer to communities rooted in accountability and respect. We encourage everyone to work toward a future where sexual violence is no longer tolerated and survivors are supported with the care and justice they deserve. Together, we can foster cultures of consent, accountability, and understanding. 💚 Donate to organizations like @rapecrisisdane , @endabusewi , @freedominc , @unidoswi , and @wcasa_ who believe survivors, advocate for change, and create a path toward healing and justice.
