A few weeks ago I went to Sweden north of the artic circle with @nordiskoutdoor
With @kristofferparfa as our guide @persummits and I went out in the wilderness to photograph some tents. These pics are a bit of behind the scenes.
Suuuch a good time exploring the wintery landscapes and magnificent nature up there
First Trail Cup of the year and it was a fun one. Ulstrup always delivers(slightly biased perhaps😇)
Didnt reeeally find a lot of speed but rode smoothly and had fun with great people so cant complain
Absolutely stoked on seeing the speed of @apex_gravity_racing and all the other young guns💪🏼 future is bright
Altravesur part 5
The last bit of the trip took me to Granada just at the foot of Sierra Nevada.
The last bit of the trip offered beautiful deserty landscapes and +20 degrees in Feb.
Spent two days in Granada exploring the city and surroundings by bike, a bike without bags to my legs relief. Everywhere in the city I went I had memories come to me from when I was there with my family at age 5.
All in all such an amazing trip and a perfect way to spend a week in February escaping the snowy and vold weather in DK.
Altravesur part 4
Properly got into the mountains now and the weather is showing its best side. Rocky mountains, small authentic villages and olive fields took up the views for a few days.
The route sometimes follows the GR7 footpath which goes across Spain. However some parts are less rideable than others and at times I was quite happy with my mtb experience.
Altravesur part 3
Even though Gibraltar is not originally included in the route, I just couldnt help but so a little detour and experience what it had to offer. Rolling into Gibraltar and climbing to the top of Gibraltar rock offered a nice break from the muddy paths that would luckily soon get better.
Gibraltar has free living monkeys running around on the streets which was quite the experience for me, along with cycle across the landing strip of the airport to even enter the country.
Altravesur part 2
Safe to say the first few days offered a bit of mud. Some paths would slowly but steadily turn into deep mud. Over two days I had almost 6 hours of hiking the bike through deep mud and sometimes completely flooded paths. I had to regularly stop and wash the bike with river or puddle water just to keep the wheels turning in the sticky peanut butter.
Felt so bad for the poor little bike that for sure didnt deserve this as its first real voyage, but what a way to break it in.
Altravesur part 1
Back in Feb I took a week out of the calendar to bikepack a part of the Altravesur route. I did the bit from Cadiz to Granada with a little detour to Gibraltar.
This was my first time solo bikepacking which was quite fun to try.
The area of Cadiz and Granada is very interesting to me as I went with my family a few times when I was very little. I wanted to re-experience the area in a new way that I could remember properly.
A few weeks before I went, Andalusia had been hit by some severe floods, so I came into the trip knowing that some bits might not be possible to do due to mud and washed away roads. Turns out I was quite right on the muddy bit
A good mix of good aug-sep things.
Loads of good people, loads of bikes, bitta racing and made an asfalt pumptrack with the help of some amazing people🤝🏼
