Spent Election Eve with thousands of Americans waiting together for hours with hope and joy and faith in our democracy and decency. Even better than seeing Kamala herself were the vibes in the crowd!

Day 6 of JMT: Gladys Lake to Mammoth Lakes. Hiked to Devil’s postpile and re-supplying and spending the night in Mammoth Lakes. Said goodbye to Walt & Kristen Kusic Heady and joined now by our friends the Ashbachers for the next 4 days!

Day 4 of JMT trip: Thousand Islands Lake to Garnet lake (off trail). After a glorious morning swim, we took an off trail route around the backside of Thousand Islands Lake and over a small pass to Garnet Lake. The mosquitos were intense but we crossed over snow to get some relief. Campsite at Garnet Lake was beautiful.

Day 2 of JMT trip: Gem Lake to Waugh Lake. Working our way toward the JMT. Morning swims in Sierra lakes are the best.

On our way to the trail head to start our month long backpacking trek along the John Muir Trail in the High Sierra! This has been a decades long dream to do this with Darwin! Many thanks to my amazing husband Paul Heady for being our support team! Darwin and I will be on trail for the month mostly unplugged from internet but you can check our progress here: /FredDarwinJMT

A great visit with my Dad & Vivi on their cattle ranch in the Big Hole, Montana. A different definition of ‘spring’ than coastal California!
