A dream come true 😘
2026 is the centenary of the birth of Miles Davis and John Coltrane. Two giants. Two men who changed everything for me - and for jazz in general. I couldn’t let this go without responding musically.
So I gathered my Duplex at Meudon’s studio - Renaud, Cyril, Frédéric, Gabriel, Laurent - and we immersed ourselves in 7 standards, all drawn from the modal repertoire. Not to redo them. To inhabit them in our own way, with our influences, our energy, our time.
I also invited two artists I admire: Christian Altehülshorst on the trumpet on Seven Steps to Heaven, and Monika Kabasele on the vocals on Flamenco Sketches - she wrote a text that fits perfectly with Miles’ mind. Something about freedom, space, movement. You will understand when you hear it.
This album is the sequel to Jultrane plays John and the culmination of a work of memory that has been close to my heart for a long time.

Qu'est-ce que la musique ? Un voyage de l'âme, un fil invisible d'émotion, une vibration qui résonne entre les êtres. Chaque musicien porte en lui un univers façonné par la culture, l'apprentissage et l'expérience de la vie.
Pour Linus, le chemin a commencé par la guitare classique dans sa Suède natale. Adolescent, il découvre l'énergie du rock et la liberté du jazz, choisissant de consacrer sa vie à la musique. Il compose, il explore, il écoute les voix des maîtres.
Son parcours le mène aux rythmes du Brésil et de l'Afrique, puis, à la vingtaine, à une nouvelle vie en France.
Depuis, il a enregistré de nombreux albums et partagé la scène avec des artistes du monde entier, mêlant des genres aussi divers que le jazz, le blues, la samba et les musiques du monde.
Avec ce nouveau projet, Linus raconte son histoire : d'où il vient, où il a voyagé et où il va. On Friday, January 23, 2026, during the first concert at 5:30 p.m., we paid tribute to Lan Vu.
He was an extraordinary person, whom I had the privilege of knowing for a short time thanks to Laurent Sarrien.
On a wonderful Sunday in June, where we played Trane, in a beautiful garden, I met Lan, her husband Cyril, and her beautiful children.
A moment out of time when we were talking about Vietnam 🇻🇳 and one of a lot of things, even going to Vietnam together, unfortunately a terrible cancer took his life, so brutally.
This version is a tribute to her and her loved ones on the day of her cremation, rest in peace, I will forget your advice and what you wanted me to do ❤️🇻🇳🙏🏻.
The rest of the speech is the music that speaks my 3 wonderful musicians who accompany me so well, very lucky to have these brothers of ❤️.
