It is unfortunate that policing gender expression has been circulating around our drag community.
Drag is art. Drag is weird. Drag is YOURS to create!
Drag Kings do not owe you masculinity, Queens do not owe you femininity, performers don’t have to gender their persona AT ALL if that’s their preference!
Life it too short to police fellow queer creatives on how they want to express their own art.
Welcoming @freddieoddlydeadd to the Oddly family officially! You’ve been with us literally since we started in our parking lot & now you’re killing it in your handmade costumes, on stage in our sold out shows ✨
Can’t wait to see what the future of your drag looks like!
So proud of you for being unapologetically FREDDIE!
EMO VS ROCK NITE!! Come see this drag show of Queens Kings and Everything in between! Show up stage ready for a chance to be picked from the audience to perform for us!! See you soon!💋

THIS SITUATION HAS BEEN RESOVLED
❗️DISCLAIMER❗️
i am not here to start drama for no reason. my intentions is to share this criticique i got at my first drag king competition and to be open about that i still struggle heavily with the dysphoria this induced to this day. it is so hard to watch mrmobdick still uplifted after i was treated this way. King Phantom and Johnny Gentleman (the other two judges) reached out to me after to consolidate me and they have both continued to uplift me and other femboy kings since then. i appreciate them to the ends of the earth and i dont wish to drag them back thru this mess. the only reason im posting about this is cuz i was too scared to do so before. i have found my home within the drag community and feel safe and protected in my queer family enough to show Mo B Dick tearing down a young king, and i wasnt the only victim that night. he should be held accountable for the damage hes done to the next generation of Drag King History that he so loudly flaunts. after this critique on stage i pulled him aside to chat after the show, i had been crying and had to pull myself together in order to ask why he would comment on my voice as a transman. my voice has nothing to do with drag. after some discussion he proclaimed i shouldnt have even had a mic and was offended i even came up to him to ask for clarity. he then cornered me and shouted at me that i was being “too aggressive and loud.” i deserve to stand up for myself when told my body is too small for the spiked collar i was wearing and that my voice and clothing was “too femme” for a drag king competition.
that being said- please do not send hate dms to Mo B Dick or anyone involved. that is not what im after. all we have is each other at the end of the day. and if it wasnt for my community (the other judges, the staff, fellow performers, my family, and my partner) after this experience i wouldnt have been able to bounce back the way i did. thank you all endlessly.
