Recent work for @laraza.us 🙏 Truly grateful to the whole team who brought this vision to life. From the eye of our photographer @cozyylens to the talent of our models @chino__213 , @oj_zai and @choycebrown , to the styling direction from @fatixfvti ! none of this would’ve been possible without each of you. Thank you for making the vision a reality.
Seeing everything about ICE raids on social media tears me apart. This isn’t just some headline, it’s my life. My mom’s life. My family’s pain. She came here with nothing but hope, leaving everything behind to give us a better life. She worked harder than anyone I know, busting her ass so we could have opportunities.
Now she’s too damn scared to even go get groceries. That’s how deep the fear runs. And that hurts me. People treat families like mine like we’re disposable. Like we don’t belong. If you see my people, my family like criminals FUCK YOU.
I’m angry. I’m heartbroken. And I’m tired of people treating us like dirt. Every time I see ICE raids online. families torn apart, kids crying for their parents. I see my mom’s face. And it makes me furious.
I’m the designer behind La Raza. I started designing clothes because I feel like I can speak through it, like it’s the one place where I really have a voice. Growing up, I was that shy kid who never liked to speak or even knew how to express my feelings. Clothing became my way to show people who I am, where I come from, and what I stand for.
Every piece I make is a tribute to my mom’s strength, our culture, and our fight. We belong here. My mom belongs here.
I’m taking action. I’m working on something with La Raza to raise funds for families hit by these raids that I will be announcing. They deserve better. Our Kids deserve better ! I encourage you to speak up our voices hold power, it’s our biggest weapon !
