SOME NIGHTS FEEL LIKE HOME.
This week’s Underground Voice is Ferdgie, aka Fred.
A story about finding the night as an outsider, and realising that freedom only stays free when people actively help hold it up. Not a commodity but a community. Built locally, carried together.
Fred, thank you for the care and responsibility you bring to this scene, and for choosing actions over words. Thank you for building spaces that don’t just look good from the outside, but feel like something from the inside. And thank you for being honest about the parts of the night that can swallow people when nobody is paying attention.
And to the whole ORPHIC team, thank you for building this with him.

🇱🇰 “The path of life is woven with suffering. Yet sometimes people appear for whom that suffering is no burden, but a quiet reminder that our connection carries meaning.”
SRI LANKA 2025
This night is built around the things I love most about going out:
Exploring
Discovering
Dancing
We’ll start in the Bovenkamer, where Davut is setting the mood with a listening session. A moment to land, breathe, and ease into the night. He was the first person I thought of for this slot—his energy is exactly what’s needed to set the tone.
At midnight, the main room comes to life with Psy Priestess. Her sound goes beyond techno, and the first time I heard her, I knew she’d be perfect for this moment. She’ll keep the crowd open and curious—just the way I want the night to begin.
Then, things go deeper. Darker. Hypnotic. Developer needs no introduction. He’s one of my all-time favorites, and I still can’t believe he was available and up for this night.
Azu Tiwaline takes over next, blending deep rhythms with ancestral influences. I first heard her at Monument Festival two years ago, and I remember standing there in awe. Her sound is next level.
Closing the night, Twelve Seven & Krok will make sure we leave it all on the dancefloor. I met them in Manchester, and they made me fall in love with the city. They’re incredible artists, but more importantly, incredible people. Having them here in Amsterdam for my own night feels like a full-circle moment.
Can’t wait to experience this with you all.

Fred has selected a track to support the event, spotlighting one of his favorite producers right now and resident of ORPHIC.
After two years, my time with the Night Council @nachtraadadam has come to an end.
Looking back, we’ve made meaningful progress despite limited resources. Still, I wish we had been able to connect more with our community and push even further for a safer and more inclusive nightlife.
However, major challenges remain: preserving important nightlife spaces, countering rising costs, and creating more opportunities for the new gen and a diverse and accessible scene are still pressing issues.
Being part of the Night Council has been both challenging and rewarding. It demanded time and energy, sometimes more than I expected, but the opportunity to contribute to Amsterdam’s nightlife has always been my driving force.
I wish my colleagues all the best and will continue to engage with the city’s nightlife, from now on as a critical and committed citizen.
A big thank you to @izahky for bringing me on board with the Night Council. It’s been a pleasure working with you, and I have no doubt we’ll keep collaborating in new ways to help Amsterdam’s nightlife grow and evolve.
