My mum once told me that, as a child, I was often found under a table or tucked away in a corner. I preferred to stay hidden — to not be seen, to not be perceived. Now, I realise my efforts were futile. As if light can be hidden. As if there’s a corner deep enough to swallow it, or a wall wide enough to block its streaks from breaking through. Light does not need permission to shine. It just does. It shines - even without the desire or conscious effort to do so. But, you see, light can be dimmed. Low oil in lamps, external coverings restricting its reach. In our lives, that dimming can come from negative voices, false perceptions, life’s struggles, or even a lack of self awareness. And it takes conscious effort to push through that. I hope you realise that you carry light. That you are light. And anywhere you find yourself, you bring clarity with you. You bring warmth and hope for others. And what a privilege that is. I hope you choose to shine. To intentionally be a light wherever you find yourself, and not allow anyone, anything or your current circumstances determine how brightly you shine. I hope you realise that we can see your light. It’s who you are. So, go ahead and shine. Freely. Boldly. - Now, can we just appreciate how @jmk_signature touched my face and did justice😍😮‍💨

Your journey, your purpose, your assignment are all different. Don’t waste your energy in a competition that can have no true winner. Happy new month.🤍
