Remember these lot? With their euphoric blend of rave, electro and punk, @vlure.gla made an instant impact at Freaky Dancing’s second edition back in 2022. We’re so excited to welcome these Glaswegian geezers back to Utrecht for a sweaty show at @acu.nl on November 5th, celebrating the release of their long-awaited debut album ESCALATE. In their own words: “It’s for Glasgow. It’s for you, and your mates. It’s for every mad night and every moment when time stood still. Hold it close. Let it escalate.” ⚔️

We’ve only just recovered from seeing @courtneymayrobertson ’s HUNTER - OFF RECORD!!! at Freaky Dancing last month. Such a thrilling, scary and profound performance, it was a pleasure to be able to host it and show it to you. We can’t thank Courtney, her team and our team enough for making this happen and transforming this singular theatre piece into a tailor-made club version. If you’re into seeing things that you’ve never seen before, keep an eye on Courtney in the future.

We couldn’t have wished for a more special opening to Freaky Dancing than @ypsil_lon ’s @beforeafter.ceremony , a profound quest into the transformative qualities of techno, featuring @jordanachiano and @jeanpaulpaula . Never imagined we would hear a Korn track at Freaky Dancing, but it definitely was one of the highlights of the night. At Freaky Dancing, disciplines and artforms collide to create something new. In the space you will find a lot of flashing lights and smoke. If the visuals are too intense, please leave the room for a minute and give your brain some rest.
We will do anything we can to provide a safer space. But we also need you, the visitor, to keep an eye on your surroundings. If anybody seems lost, dizzy or out of place, ask them if they feel alright. Let’s create a nice, safe environment together for everyone. Your safety, freedom and enjoyment comes first.

Katharina Busl blurs the lines between the digital and the physical. For Freaky Dancing, she transforms part of WAS. into Bliss Domain — a multi-sensory installation where water flows, sculptures glow, and sound and scent wrap around you. A digital shrine pulsing with myth, ritual, and echoes of ancient beliefs. Busl recently graduated from @hku.fineart and presented her work at @kunsthalkloof earlier this year. 📸 by @ceciliefang
