Some snippets of BUILDING BRIDGES project / performance presentation (59:00) after two weeks of residency @prozess_kultur_bar
The project is an experimentation for live composition in building sonic environments that reflect inhabited somatic states and structures. All generated sounds are my voice(s), accompanied by visuals of TERRA project I did few years ago.
Thank you @bbimf for this great opportunity.
شرارة اتقدت في حلقي.
خلف الحريق الهائج
عظام من رماد
Thousands of voices inhabit my body. Some are mine, others are yours, some are nowhere to be found. Lost in the undertones of all that has been.
Between each and other, a thousand steps of silence.
A graveyard. Noise no longer belongs. Only crowds waiting, listening, sharing an ear, evesdropping on the
vastness of that thing.
I urge you, break the barrier. Pierce it! Whisper the crooked voice. Hang the notes in that still air. Can you hear it? My right ear throbs with a crooked form. Can you hear the horizon? all that is not spoken?.
Beirut, I will miss you.
For the longest time I believed nothing lived beyond you. I believed the end of the world was at your edge. Now I am moving to the other end of the world and I ache for you. My heart will always beat with yours.
Monster Monster make us proud! Eat Ntn Ya Hu and shit him out!!
May Day Berlin with the most amazing @bulaban_berlin ♥️😬 what an epic demo parade!! ✊🏽 love live our liberation
For Yew.
To live by its side, in its grove, under its root, inside. A poem, a prayer, a song to take over the night and turn into food. Food I gave her. Food I am to her. For its hunger to devour the past and the future, to forgive the hollowed graves of unburied deaths, to eat the chest buried under her foot.
My Zafyr turns 9 today ♥️ it’s almost two years we are separated by life circumstances. I cannot wait to have him back with me soon. We have been through so much together, and I hope for many more years to come!
I am thrilled to be broadcasting 'noise in/vocations' on @radioalhara this coming Friday 20, at 2:00AM Bethlehem time.
Tune-in for some experimentation in voice noise and interference.
Join us on Tuesday the 3rd of February at 8:00 PM for Tota’s Poetry Salon featuring Farah Azrak and hosted by Samia Naccash.
You can signup for the open mic throughout the night!
Theme: UNDERBELLIES - وما كتمنا
Underbellies move beneath text. They occupy raw currents carrying everything that lies underneath–from the unspoken to the overlooked, from the intimate to the chaotic and messy.
They are often soft and delicate, but carry all of life’s struggles and grit. Underbellies are sites where exposed and obscured realities live. They speak concealed stories, circulate a hidden pulse, reveal cracks in the system.
How do we unfilter the narrative? Speak of those that are under the current?
The evening is an open invitation to experiment with sound, voice and text, and all that dwells at the edge of articulation and telling.
