Definitely still struggling with a bit of imposter syndrome, nominally MD-ing gigs with musicians far more experienced than me, but always trying to learn as much as I can. Made the most of a half hour wait for a train at London Bridge to go through some old hymns. I've never really been religious (forced confirmation at the age of 10 didn't really help) but some hymns genuinely are amazing. Anyway here's me butchering In Christ Alone.

Stonemountain Collective held one of their Sunday jam session events at The Spirited Cocktail & Tapas Bar in West London — part of their regular live music gatherings for musicians and music lovers. These sessions are open, spontaneous jazz, soul and funk jams with a core house band and invited players contributing throughout the afternoon.

Had the BEST night performing with @lostimprov - so, so proud to play music for such a talented cast. Joining the group as it was starting out last summer is comfortably one of the best things I've done in recent years. On to the next one!
Have said it a lot, but I feel so lucky to have found a group which really pushes me to take music seriously again. Had a complete drop-off during Covid, and actually ended up picking up some less productive/unhealthy habits which thankfully are behind me now - but to actually have a purpose to making music on a weekly basis again means everything to me.
Anyway, enjoy the finale of the final number of two shows with @lostimprov - where I finally got to indulge myself in throwing in a completely unnecessary reference to Phantom of the Opera when ending a song. I reckon it just - JUST - about worked.
