For all non-Germans out there, you may not be aware of the sanctity of asparagus season… but Spargelzeit has officially begun. Here’s a celebration of the beauty of these little stalks. They are really very elegant! Fun to look at, fun to draw (I drew a lot). All of these are offshoots from the May calendar page I made for @brighter.agency . (Yes it says “Tomato”. No that is not a tomato. I put it in to see where I wanted to place the “Asparagus” text but it somehow grew on me.)

Zoë Matt-Williams is a reportage illustrator based in Berlin. You might recognize her work from the taz, who she illustrates articles for, or from her coffee reading project around Berlin bars with Lydia Makrides. She's particularly interested in playful and analogue design (hence the faux-riso on show here!). In her free time she's expanding her ever-growing collection of soup recipes.
